Names of seats[edit]

NTymkiv (WMF), thank you for creating this graphic, it's a very clear presentation of important info.

I'm curious about the names you chose for the seats:

  • Jimmy
  • CommunityElected#
  • AffiliatesElected#
  • AppointedElected#

I'd suggest the following changes, if you don't object (with my comments after each):

  • Founder (Jimmy Wales) (informality of first name alone seems odd)
  • CommunitySelected# (seems significant that "elected" is not quite the right word for what volunteers do)
  • AffiliatesSelected# (same as above)
  • Appointed# (these are not elected or selected by anyone but the board, not sure why "elected" is in there)

Peteforsyth thank you for noticing this :) I left only first names to be able to have them all written in the first half year, that's why Jimmy Wales is only Jimmy, to be written in the same way as other names. As at first I wanted to start from other period of time I didn't have enough space for Kelly, but after deciding to start from Wikimania 2016, it does seem that I changed that for Kelly Battles (her line has enough room for that), so to be consistent I have cleaned it up. And I do know that the community and affiliated are not elected :) I used CommunityElected to show that in the end they need to be moved from just "selected" to "elected". And that logic was also used for Appointed seats. But I agree. I should have paid more attention to the details moving the chart from my own draft to Meta --NTymkiv (WMF) (talk) 22:14, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If with this changes the now selected seats would be changed to really elected seats, so that the fiasco with Doc James unethical ditching and replacement by a not elected member can no longer happen, it would be very fine. But it should probably not be mixed up. Grüße vom Sänger ♫(Reden) 05:40, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
