Introductory statement / Application summary (maximum 500 words): Tell us who you are, why you are applying, and your relevant experience. I am applying to the committee to serve on a second term. In the first phase, in which I had the pleasure of serving, I brought my perspective as a long-time Wikimedian, as well as my own professional experience in human rights and policy writing. I would like to continue to bring a perspective from the Global South, based on respect for the community and its interests. I am an active Wikimedian, admin in Spanish Wikipedia. Promoter and founder of the Iberocoop initiative since 2010 that brings together Wikimedia affiliates from Iberoamerica. Founder of Wikimedia Mexico and part of its Board of Directors for the third time since 2024. Member of initiatives such as Leadership Development Working Group, the Diversity working group of the Wikimedia Strategy 2030, Member of the Ombuds Commission, 2021, and drafter of the Universal Code of Conduct in the final part of its first stage.

I participated in the first phase of the UCOC with contributions from a policy and human rights perspective. I was also part of the Diversity Working Group of the Wikimedia Strategy 2030, where I was a consultant in the drafting of documents that contributed to the first stage of its conception. On a professional level, outside of Wikimedia, I have consulted in the drafting and review of legislative initiatives presented to the Mexican Legislative Power related to copyright.

Questions

  • You ran earlier this year in the first U4C election, with a resulting 54% support ratio. While above 50%, that was insufficient to elect you. Why do you think the result will be different this time? Izno (talk) 19:44, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
