currently, I contribute to whatever comes on my way - I don't differentiate between projects there. I'm most active on nl.wikipedia, but also have several edits on en.wikipedia , commons.wikimedia and non-content projects meta.wikimedia and nl.wikimedia. I have been a steward from December 2006 until mid 2010. For the rest of my project involvement as a "leader", as far as relevant, this was informal.

I was one of the founders of Wikimedia Nederland, and have been on the board for 5 years, including as a treasurer (2008-2009) and as a vice president (2009 - 2011). I have been active voting member of the Chapters committee since mid 2009. I was the initiator and organizer of the first Wikimedia Chapters meeting in 2008 (Nijmegen) and again in 2010 (Berlin). I was one of the leads of the program committee for Wikimania (2008, Alexandria). In my years on the chapter board I have lead in several projects, including (but not exclusively) the organizing of Wikimedia Conference NL 2006, 2007 & 2008, the annual fundraiser, the Greenpaper project (in cooperation between several other chapters) and Wiki Loves Monuments 2010 (Netherlands). Currently I am still actively involved (in a leading role) with Wiki Loves Monuments on a European level, with more than 15 participating countries.

My first landing (or crash) in the Wikiprojects happened in November 2006 (in the Occitan Wikipèdia). I felt it was a great opportunity to create an Occitan encyclopaedia (there is none available up to this moment and this is the best we have...). which would grant free access to everyone everywhere (there are many communication problems between regions and we hardly know what has been and is done in some areas...). I came to the English Wikipedia in January 2007 mainly to fix a few things and try to make Occitan or Catalan more noticeable. Since I have a limited amount of time, I have chosen to use it for less-privileged languages than to big languages that do not need me this much, if ever a Wikiproject needs me... After my exile from the Occitan Wikipedia and my contributions to other Wikipedias, in November 2007 the Occitan wikibooks were threatened to close because there was no activity so I moved there and worked for a while to create some pages (specially about dinosaures and a little bit about chess and other things..., that is 378 edits and most of the 118 pages available there...) that I thought could be of interest to the young students of Occitan. The same month I decided to give a try to the Occitan wikiccionari which was not really attractive to me at that time since it was some kind of lexicon. It had then less than 3.000 words (we went over this number in March 2008) and well I worked on serious improvements, adding the etymology, the pronunciation, the hyphenation, pictures, a better table (with flags) for the languages "stolen" from the Lithuanian wiktionary and some quotations from time to time. I am glad to count on the precious help and collaboration of an Occitan user Jiròni who gives so much time to the Occitan cause and together (with some variable help from other wiktionarists) we have been able to reach the 45th position with 17.142 entries. Since I do not wish to use too much space here, I have also contributed in an important way to the Catalan wikipedia especially concerning Northern Catalonia and have brought some images to Common.

• Projects as Administrator: My main interest is trying to help the best I can the projects. Being an administrator would require more time spent in discussions and since I tend to be too picky and try to consider everything that needs to be considered (to quote Billy Joel: "shades of grey is all that I find...") I could engage in neverending debates that would bring me nowhere and would hardly help the projects.
• Projects as Bureaucrat: I do not really intend to be a Bureaucrat except if sorely needed.
• Leadership Role at Project level? I do not see myself as a leader, just as a voice among many others even if I am responsible of some beginning of vertebration inside the Occitan projects and have been pretty active in the support campaign for a Catalan Chapter.

Please allow me to add the following statement: "I love languages and I can reach some kind of marvelled astonishment (I hope I do not look too stupid when it happens...) when confronted to alphabets or writing systems I did not know about and I am still admirative of the Indian scripts, the Armenian or Georgian alphabets, and the Arabian, Chinese, Japanese or Corean calligraphy. I once felt the same with Cyrillic but since I am able to read it now, even if at a snail pace, it has become more familiar."
