About me
I am a registered APEC Engineer in Australia and International Professional Engineers (IntPE(Aus)), chartered professional engineer (CPEng) under Engineers Australia (IEAust), senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Power and Energy Society (IEEE PES) and member of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE).
Power engineer by profession, I have been working in power-related industries (distribution, transmission and generation) for more than 15 years in Indonesia and Malaysia, namely in manufacturing, coal mining, construction and resorts fields.
I obtained my master's degree in power engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia and bachelor's degree (hons) in power systems engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia.
I have published technical papers about power quality monitoring, power transmission development and power engineering education and presented in IEEE conferences in Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan respectively, in which all are Scopus-indexed. I am a regular reviewer for engineering conference papers submission and have participated in some of IEEE standards development work groups. I have been featured twice in the IEEE Spectrum periodical.
I am a regular external examiner for bachelor's degree final year projects of my alma mater university. I have mentored and guided students from various countries for their engineering projects works.
I am also a cosplayer. I have dressed up in more than 40 cosplay characters from the 80s and 90s movies or gothic. I've been invited as guest cosplayer, speaker, singer, performer and cosplay competition judge in Malaysia and Indonesia. My work
I founded the Wikimedia Malaysia community in 2016 by organizing Malaysia's first Wikimedia meetup in Johor, and subsequently founded the Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia (WCUGM) in 2017 and has been the president since then. In 2022, I was appointed as the ESEAP Hub Interim Committee, elected as the committee member for ESEAP Preparatory Council in 2023, became the ESEAP Community Connector in 2025 and subsequently elected as the streering committee of ESEAP Hub in 2026. In 2025, I founded the Wikimedia Mongolia community by organizing Mongolia's first Wikimedia meetup in Kharkhorin.
Together with my user group team, I have organized or co-organized a total of 40 Wikipedia meetups, which are in Malaysia (35 meetups) and outside Malaysia (2 in Indonesia, 1 in Singapore and 2 in Taiwan) with various institutions, including the very first international Wikimedia conference in Malaysia, the ESEAP Conference 2024 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
I started to edit Wikimedia projects since 2009. Since then, I have made more than 2,500 new articles in English Wikipedia, uploaded more than 2,500 photos to Wikimedia Commons and made more than 600 page entries in English Wikiquote. Overall, I have made almost 700,000 edits throughout the entire Wikimedia projects, with the majority being in the English Wikipedia with more than 400,000 edits.
I presented and published a technical paper in IEEE conference in Japan in 2017 about power engineering education with Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons.
I represented WCUGM for the Wikimedia Conference 2017 in Germany, ESEAP Strategy Summit 2019 in Thailand (also took part in the Trust and Safety team), EduWiki Conference 2023 in Serbia, Wikimania 2023 in Singapore (also presented the Rebranding Wikimedia Wikimedia for Anime, Cosplay, Gaming (ACG) World) and WikidataCon 2023 in Taiwan (also presented the Using Wikidata for Cosplay and ACG World). I represented ESEAP Hub for ESEAP Conference 2024 in Malaysia (also became the core team of Volunteer Committee and Trust and Safety), ESEAP Strategy Summit 2025 in the Philippines (also became the moderator for Open Mic for Cross-border Collaboration session) and the upcoming ESEAP Conference 2026 in Taiwan (also become the scholarship committee).
