About Me

[edit]

I'm a Journalist & communications Specialist by profession. A change-maker, Community Leader and organizer based in Kenya, passionate about championing Media and Information literacy, fact-checking, Gender Equity, Human Rights and Social Change. I enjoy writing [[1]] of notable women in Africa on EnWiki and fact-checking not just to safegurad information integrity but also to right history.

I joined the Wikipedia Community in September 2019, during the East Africa Strategy Summit 2019, in Kampala, where I got to learn more about the movement and as a free knowledge champion, I was definitely hooked!

In 2020, amid the Covid Pandemic, i mobilized a community to form the new Wikimedia Community Usergroup Kenya, which was formally recognised as an affiliate in 2022, becoming the first in East Africa to be Co-founded and all female led. I have served as a team lead, overseeing the strategic directon of the affiliate, community building and leadership development and transitioned to the ED role in 2026 upon endoersement by the Core Steering Team.

My home wiki is English Wikipedia where alongside fact-checking and closing africa's content gaps on Topics of Impact, I'm bridging the gender gap by righting Kenyan women into history.
