admin@testwikidata

Hi, in 2018 you have granted admin rights on testwikidata to @MSchottlender-WMF: for Testing partial blocks. It seems like these rights have never been used and are redundant to the global staff rights. Are local admin rights still needed? --Ameisenigel (talk) 16:52, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

I think this can likely be removed now, yes, since it was so long ago. Joe Sutherland (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 17:26, 13 February 2023 (UTC)

Small inconsistency

Hi Joe (and Patrick @PEarley (WMF):,

On Universal Code of Conduct/Revised enforcement guidelines/Voting statistics, I noticed two different totals: 3097 or 3101 voters. the difference is very small but it bugs me a bit, did I miss some explanation somewhere ?

Hi! I filed a bug about this problem here: phab:T329565 Joe Sutherland (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 17:12, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
Ah, it might also be some last-minute struck votes. I will investigate :) Joe Sutherland (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 17:26, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

Wait time for confidentiality agreement noticeboard

Hello @JSutherland (WMF)! I was wondering how long it normally takes from when you sign the confidentiality agreement to when your name is added to the noticeboard by a WMF authorized acccount. I signed it many months ago and am still waiting to be added. If this is normal, that’s fine, but I just want to make sure that I actually filled out the agreement correctly and that there were no errors. Thanks! Illusion Flame (talk) 21:49, 11 June 2023 (UTC)

Hi there - sorry we didn't follow up at the time. Your account primarily wasn't added because it was so new. Is there a specific reason you require this access? Thanks! Joe Sutherland (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 18:11, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
Not at the moment, but in the future I plan to become an account creator on Enwiki. Thought I’d just get the signing part out of the way. Could I be added? Illusion Flame (talk) 14:45, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
Hello, just checking in here to make sure you saw my reply. Have a great week! Illusion Flame (talk) 01:28, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
Hi again, sorry for the delay. I've added you to the noticeboard. Joe Sutherland (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 01:10, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
No need to apologize. Thank you! Illusion Flame (talk) 01:14, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

The time of the admin election

Hello. After the zhwiki admin election in September 2022 made use of SecurePoll (phab:T318147), the community is discussing if we should use SecurePoll for the following elections now. Currently, we plan to hold the election every April and October, but we don't know if this time is available for us. --Yining Chen (Talk) 06:30, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

Hi there -- if and when there is consensus to do this, please do re-open the Phabricator task you opened a few days ago. Thank you! Joe Sutherland (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 22:50, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
I have updated SecurePoll with the upcoming elections. The next one I am aware of will be in October. Joe Sutherland (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 22:50, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
Thank you! --Yining Chen (Talk) 13:38, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

Proposal to set up multiple vote on Securepoll from zhwiki community

Hello, there was two votes created in the recent zhwiki election (one for the sysop and another one for the advanced permission). Currently, there is a proposal from some zhwiki community members that setting each vote per each candidate (similar to last year's election). I would like to ask if this is possible or not? And will this increase your workload excessively? :/ Thanks! SCP-2000 07:53, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

Sorry to bother you. Any update about this? Thanks:) SCP-2000 09:37, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
Sorry to miss this. This would be possible but cumbersome. Ideally we would have one or two votes per cycle rather than 10+ :) but if it is the will of the community we can make it happen. Joe Sutherland (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 04:18, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
