transclude your userpage across various wikis

I saw your request for Cross-Wiki transclusion. I believe you can do that already, if the wiki in question allows transclusion? My Meta Userpage is transcluded on several wikis, e.g: here.

@Rodejong, thanks. I didn't submit the wish but I must have written down the idea somewhere and someone else added it.

You are right that a meta userpage will be copied to other wikis, it is a feature added after I set up my userpages so I must not have been aware of it when I wrote down the idea. I have modified the wish to correct that.

However, I don't think proper cross-wiki transculsion is supported. For example transcluding your meta userpage globally at the top, and adding local content below.

Or transcluding a page of important discussions from Commons on English Wikipedia etc. Commander Keane (talk) 00:11, 30 July 2025 (UTC)

I agree, that it is limited.

I am mainly on Miraheze (The Wikifarm) where the userpage can be transcluded only from login.miraheze.org to all other wikis. (e.g. my userpage on dev.miraheze.org)

This is a standard feature. But you are indeed right that you cannot add content locally, without replacing the the transcluded content.

Inquiry about the Wikimedia Dashboard wish

Hi User:Commander Keane,

I came across your Community Wishlist proposal about the Wikimedia Dashboard (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Wishlist/W313).

It’s a great idea, and I’m interested in helping or contributing to its development. Could you please share the current status of this wish is anyone working on it yet?

Also, could you guide me on how I could get started (for example, through Phabricator tasks, discussion pages, or development channels)?

Hi Gauri Guptaa. It was just an idea of mine, I don't really track the status of these things as I am not too technical. Generally there isn't much innovative or interesting development going in MediaWiki, so it is probable that there hasn't been any effort in working on it. My generic advice would be to check out developer.wikimedia.org. User:TheDJ, who commented on the talk page of the wish, is a rather awesome volunteer developer so they may be able to help you with your query.--Commander Keane (talk) 12:12, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
