Fundraising translation feedback[edit]
Hey DavidL,
I wanted to ask for your help. As you may be aware we have been running banners on many language wikis. We have a lot of new content this year and I really want to conduct a thorough review of our translations. This is a combination of feedback from the community, readers, donors as well as those with professional translator experience. This will help us ensure the highest quality of translations used in our messaging.
To help us out with this I wonder if you would be willing to give us feedback in french using This Link
Simply follow the simple instructions on that page and if you have any questions feel free to contact me on my talk page.
Many Thanks

frwikibooks[edit]
@DavidL: Is it normal that I cannot talk on talk pages? I can't even wite to you on frwikibooks on your own talk page.
This boilerplate shall be on the top of this page but the system rejects my edit (Il n'est pas autorisé de créer sa page de présentation sans être un contributeur du site, ni de faire de l'auto-promotion.). Maybe someone would like to do something about it. Until then I will not see when you write anything here, and people will not even know why.
I wanted to ask around what the actual problem was with the bot, but if I cannot even ask it really doesn't work. You can contact me on anywhere else (commons, meta, ...) where I have write permission. Thanks. --grin ✎ 11:38, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi grin,
- There is some problems with the bot:
- The bot removes the image and associated legend text which may contain valuable information (ex: https://fr.wikibooks.org/w/index.php?title=Parc_National_des_C%C3%A9vennes&diff=prev&oldid=707758 )
- Images are removed without notice, nothing remains. We cannot see when an image is missing, we have no chance to manually search for replacement.
- There is no effort to make automatic replacement instead of removing images. Searching for replacement could be done manually once during deletion procedure. Or replacing with an image placeholder like File:Image manquante.jpg when no replacement provided.

Hi, in the very first ruleset, you may want to replace background-image:url(-)
with background-image: none
, because the former actually triggers an HTTP request to « https://<wiki_domain>/w/- » (which of course gets a 404 error). Od1n (talk) 11:29, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi.
- Done Thanks for suggestion.

Dark mode colour contrast issues rendered on iOS devices[edit]
Hello, just a quick feedback, the dark mode template does not work well with vector 2010/2022 when viewed on an iOS device. Specifically the captions of image thumbnails - the text is almost the same colour as the background which is not possible to read. would you be able to make e.g. the text brighter? thanks
here is a screenshot from an iphone, and it appears that the same issue is also rendered on a macbook: https://ibb.co/tM6xhDN original page Epidemiology of obesity Adenosine Triphosphate (talk) 20:12, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
