Unintended edits
[edit]Hi Josecurioso
I don't believe I have met you before, but we do seem to have at least one thing in common. I happened to see your posting here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Wiki13&diff=20701790&oldid=20547336
and just wanted to compare notes with you, because something similar happened to me a couple of months ago here: https://en.wikiquote.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Thanksgiving&diff=prev&oldid=2900128 This is an old edit of mine, which I posted in response to the previous poster. I never intended my post to replace part of the the previous poster's signature, but it appears to have happened anyway.
Are you interested in discussing this further? Thanks in advance, Ottawahitech (talk) 16:27, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- Sure Ottawahitech, but I don't know if I will be of any help since I don't remember much of how my edit went. What I'm 100% percent sure is that Wiki13 wrote his message between me entering edit mode and saving mine. This situation usually leads to a warning and the user selects the changes to maintain but I didn't get such a warning and simply overwrote the other user's revision. josecurioso ❯❯❯ Tell me! 17:21, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying and for pinging me. Do you still remember where your edit was? Can you provide a link to it? Thanks in advance. Ottawahitech (talk) 19:09, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
Join us for “Many Tongues, One Movement: Voices Across Languages”!
[edit]
Hello Josecurioso,
We’re excited to invite you to an inspiring global virtual gathering: the first Capacity Exchange Translat-a-thon.
Together with Language Diversity Hub, the Capacity Exchange (CapX) team will host its first Translation Marathon dedicated to ensuring linguistic equity in access to this amazing tool aimed to connect Wikimedians.
If you enjoy contributing to Wikimedia projects through translating and adapting content into different languages, this event is for you! Join us in the celebration of the multilingual spirit of the Wikimedia Movement at an event where communities that contribute in diverse languages will be able to share local knowledge and collaborate across borders.
Many Tongues, One Movement: Voices Across Languages
- Date: December 6, 2025
- Time: 12 PM (UTC) - Check the event page for your local timezone
- Location: Online (Meta-Wiki + live session links)
If you can’t join the live event, you can still contribute to the translations! Edits will be counted for two weeks, until December 20th. And everyone who participates will receive a special badge to display on their CapX profiles.
