Strategy/Wikimedia movement/2018-20/Transition/Global Conversations[edit]

The Movement Strategy “Global Conversations” will happen in two sets, November 21 and 22, and December 5 and 6. Each set of events will be held twice to accommodate different time zones, one better accommodating participation from East Asia and the other from the Americas. Wikimedians from Europe and Africa will be able to attend either. We wanted to accommodate timezones in a way that multiple regions could join at any given time so we could make new connections between regions and groups. The difference between the two sets of events is as follows:

November 21/22: The focus will be to look at local, organizational, and regional priorities already identified to begin to create a global plan for implementation. It aspires to create alignment on a global level. December 5/6: The second set will start looking at specific actions around the defined priorities. This is also the time for “lightning talks” or “pitches” from different communities, affiliates and teams at the Wikimedia Foundation. This would be a great opportunity if you want to connect your work to the wider Wikimedia movement.
