WikiGap Challenge 2022

[edit]

Hi! As one of the participants of the WikiGap Challenge 2021, I wanted to inform you that we have launched the 2022 edition of the Challenge – and you are of course more than welcome to join! The landing page of the challenge is on this page. This year, due to the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we are extending the Challenge to 8 May. I hope this might give some extra time for everyone to take part.

As last year, the UN Human Rights Office has nominated some 25 women human rights defenders, this year specifically focusing on women active within the fields of environment and climate. Writing articles about these women yield bonus points.

Feel free to join, and reach out if you have any questions! Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 13:58, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Updates from Capacity Exchange (CapX)!

[edit]

Hello Ralffralff,

My name is Joris Darlington Quarshie, and I am an Outreach Facilitator for the Capacity Exchange (CapX) — a platform for finding and connecting with peers to exchange knowledge and skills on a global level.

CapX is a community-built tool, designed by and for the Wikimedia Movement, to make it easier for Wikimedians across the world to find and connect, collaborate, and exchange skills and knowledge with peers.

If you don't know it yet, I invite you to access capx.toolforge.org and create your user profile with your Wikimedia account. But, if you already have a profile, I invite you to check out the new features and possibilities we just launched. I am sure you will be delighted.

CapX's new version incorporates valuable community feedback gathered over the past months, including the Organization Profile - a feature for Wikimedia affiliates, initiatives, or community groups to create their own CapX presence (see here how to create yours).

Explore CapX's new features

[edit]

→ Access: capx.toolforge.org
→ Watch the launch video:Meet the Capacity Exchange
→ Navigate CapX's User Guide and Frequently Asked Questions
→ Share your profile on Meta by adding the predefinition {{CapacityExchange}} to your userpage.
→ Visit our Meta Page for all documentation on the project

Please, let me know if you think your community would enjoy a presentation, workshop demonstration, or feedback session. I would be happy to support you on that. Just reach out, and we can schedule the best date and time together.

Best regards,

Joris Darlington Quarshie

Kailangan siguro ng updating

[edit]

Hi sir. Doon po sa Hiligaynon Wikipedia (incubator) mukhang kailangang i-update yung apat sa "most used mediawiki messages" (tapos may isa pang hindi pa naisasalin). Narito yun. Di mapapalaya sa incubator yung hilWiki kahit na may "at least 3 very active editors in not less than 3 months" kung hindi 100% sinalin ang lahat ng "most used mediawiki messages".

Mention ko rin sina @MarkRencio and PhiliptheNumber1:. Regards, JWilz12345 (Talk|Contributions) 02:37, 9 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello @JWilz12345, done translating, you can also confirm @PhiliptheNumber1 and @MarkRencio the translations on the link. Thank you! Ralffralff (talk) 08:09, 10 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Mention ko rin sina @PhiliptheNumber1 @MarkRencio: Siguro need n'yong makahikayat ng Hiligaynon speakers na may average, near-professional or professional proficiency (levels 3, 4 and 5 sa User language scale). May nakalagay sa policy page sa Incubator na: "Don't write in languages that you don't actually know. This includes both Incubator content pages and translatable pages, such as help pages, policy pages, templates, etc. Don't use machine translation, automatic transliteration, copying words from dictionaries or textbooks, copying sentences from other articles and changing some words, etc. Even if you have good intentions to help language development and preservation, contributing in languages that you don't know is more harmful than helpful. Make edits to pages in languages that you don't actually know only if you are working directly with people who do know the language, but cannot make such edits themselves for technical reasons. If you don't know such people, find them first." Regards, JWilz12345 (Talk|Contributions) 14:26, 10 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
