Re: Structured Data on Commons Newsletter, July 19, 2017

[edit]

Nice drop! Always good when it provokes questions in one's brain for the what's next. Or the "oooo!" and that means that it may have a different impact over here. It will be interesting when we get to interactions between literary works, and their contents, and components, and then how the Wikisources use them, though that is all down the track. :-) Again thanks for the newsletter.  — billinghurst sDrewth 00:17, 20 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hey billinghurst, oh yes, modelling all those very diverse cases will be exciting (and sometimes rough, to be honest). I'm personally more familiar with artworks and architecture, less with literary works, but very much looking forward to seeing how we'll deal with all those very different and complex cases. All the best! SandraF (WMF) (talk) 09:51, 20 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

I am contacting you because you are listed as a Community Liaison.

I am putting together a proposal at User:Guy Macon/Proposals/CAPTCHA (part of a series of proposals at User:Guy Macon/Proposals).

In my opinion, the next logical step is to inform someone at the WMF legal department. My problem is that there does not appear to be any noticeboard associated with the WMF legal department and every member of the WMF legal department appears to have a user talk page that cannot be edited.

I am unwilling to use email or post to a mailing list because I want everything involved with my proposals to be open and accessible through the history of the page where the discussion occurred. Can you suggest a way that I can contact legal regarding this matter? -Guy Macon (talk) 17:37, 19 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Guy, thanks for your message! You have received a reply on Chris' talk page. With kind regards, SandraF (WMF) (talk) 06:17, 21 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request for WikiCIte Satellite Key-Note in Cologne, May 6.-8. 2020

[edit]

Dear Sandra,

I am part of a team organizing a WikiCite Satellite Conference from May 6th to 8th 2020 in Cologne [1]. The main focus will be on the use of data from Wikidata and corresponding tools.

We like to ask you if you could give a key-note speech at the conference? Subject orientation of the talk could be a report of the current status of Wikidata as well as further plans. We look forward for your response.

Kind regards! Eva

Questionnaire invitation (a new tool to be developed, to verify media data)

[edit]

Hi there, I'm developing a tool to assist users in verifying (structured) data of media on commons.

To understand the community's needs, I would like to invite you to participate in this questionnaire: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScbNdJdQYN1yBvEeKne48eWDU6SBsdlUfNBAmZyvUEBkCR1Gg/viewform?usp=sf_link. It should take ~2 minutes.

Thanks a lot. :D

(You received this message as you seems to have experience with structured data on Wikimedia projects.)
