Feedback[edit]

This is just an idea I am writing down for myself to further work out. Feedback is greatly appreciated. - Taketa (talk) 16:25, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed here http://strategy.wikimedia.org/wiki/Proposal:Journal_%28A_peer-review_journal_to_allow/encourage_academics_to_write_Wikipedia_articles%29
One is up and running here https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Wikiversity_Journal_of_Medicine
Please join. Maybe once big enough it can become its own sister project. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:32, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Great to hear it already exists :). I will review it immediately. Thank you, Taketa (talk) 16:34, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Not having it realised in the past 3 years is a bit off putting though. - Taketa (talk) 16:36, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
We need to have a fairly large active community before this can become its own sister site. It is still a very small initiative. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 17:20, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I would imagine that having their own names as second or third etc author in a scientific article, for giving help with Wikispecific stuff would be a great motivation for some Wikimedians. Also I know alot, and I mean alot of people who have studies ongoing, and give talks at Wiki conventions, but never publish. Maybe those people would be interested. If I get a scholarship I will be at Wikimania. Maybe I can speak to some people there and see if there is an interest. All the best, Taketa (talk) 17:29, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Great if you make it to Wikimania we can chat about it. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 17:40, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
