Wikimedia CEE Hub/Grants
The Wikimedia CEE Hub supports communities through two funding programmes designed to enable projects of different scale and impact. The Microgrants programme provides funding for short-term, low-cost initiatives that bring value to Wikimedia communities in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Persian-speaking contributors in the region. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the annual budget is allocated, with a quick evaluation process and feedback provided within 5-10 working days.
In parallel, the CEE Hub Rapid Funds programme, developed in cooperation with the Wikimedia Foundation, supports larger projects in Central and Eastern Europe with budgets ranging from 700 to 5000 USD. This programme is implemented continuously throughout the year, with defined processing timelines and structured evaluation led by the Grants Specialist and Regional Coordinator. Both programmes are designed to be accessible and supportive, and applicants are strongly encouraged to consult with the Grants Specialist before submitting their proposals.
