In June 2016 launched a Wikipedia project for creating comprehensive and consistent lists of all public art works in Finland into Finnish language Wikipedia. Before that experimental work of lists on some cities were done. I will explain about our refined definitions of what can be considered a public place and public art works and what are not. By now, lists of several cities and municipalities have been completed, many are in working phase and many are still not finished. How the law of freedom of panorama affects the listing? What has proved to be a good working strategy, what is in it for the editors and Wikipedia readers? I will propose a global, compatible standard form for these lists for all language Wikipedias, where both Wikidata and Wikimaps are taken into consideration. What will be our future moves? Could this be applied in other countries? Could we create a list of public art of the world? Why should these lists be done and what can be done with these lists in the future?
Do you have experience of this kind and can you apply our experience in your country? Could the international Wikimedia community agree on how to store the gathered information into Wikidata? And what kind of data should be gathered in a smart way? Could we create lists of all public works of art in the world?
