Minutes of meeting

30th May

• Upon arrival at the booth site, we found out that the booth that we booked was not 1 whole tent but actually half a tent. We had to reorganize our booth layout plan to fit in the reduced space.
• The front of the booth displayed various information about Kent Wiki Club, Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikimedia Commons, and the Wikimedia movement with several merchandise pieces. A large banner to commemorate the launch of the Kadazandusun Wikipedia two days prior was displayed at the front-side of the booth. Many visitors were attracted to the booth and started getting interest in Wiktionary and Wikimedia Commons. Inside the booth were several tables for account creation and also a section for a mini physical fill-in-the-blanks Kadazandusun sentence game that utilizes the Malay Wiktionary as a way to figure out the meaning of Kadazandusun words for non-speakers of the language as well as non-fluent speakers of the language.
• The mini game was a good way to engage with visitors as they eventually started making Wikimedia accounts on Wiktionary to add words from their own languages.
• Several Kent Wiki Club members were stationed at various points of the festival as photographers to capture the atmosphere of the event.
• Kent Wiki Club members took turns manning the front booth table to engage with visitors.
• Tasks such as uploading a certain number of photos of the event to Commons and inputting a certain number new words into Wiktionary were also given to visitors to challenge them before giving out merchandise
