Il Concorso per il design di Wikinotizie (Wikinews design contest) è un progetto a lungo termine coordinato da Eloquence per creare un nuovo aspetto e una nuova interfaccia per il progetto Wikinotizie che si distingua dal design di Wikipedia. Consiste in due parti, un concorso per il design del portale e un concorso per il design dell'interfaccia. Nota che tu sei attualmente su Meta-Wiki, che è il progetto che coordina tutti gli altri progetti di Wikimedia (Wikinotizie, Wikipedia, Wikibooks, e altri). Il concorso è effettivamente aperto adesso (è stato lanciato il 17 febbraio 2005) e rimarrà aperto a nuove proposte almeno fino al 17 maggio 2005. Dopo la chiusura, ci sarà un periodo di votazioni per decidere quale design scegliere.

Linee guida per le proposte[edit]

Le proposte devono essere inserite nel pubblico dominio. Non usare per favore immagini col copyright per le quali non abbiamo una licenza. Il logo di Wikinews deve essere usato come logo. Una versione ad alta risoluzione del nostro logo può trovarsi qui: Image:WikinewsLogoPolarGlobe9TBig.png

Concorso per il portale[edit]

Il concorso per il portale è per il design della pagina del www.wikinews.org portale. Il portale può essere modificato qui su Meta e consiste in due componenti: il Www.wikinews.org template (la parte HTML) e il Www.wikinews.org portale (il corpo, nel linguaggio di markup wiki). Il corpo è inserito nel template al posto della stringa "$1". Non modificare questa pagine direttamente, per favore non modificare direttamente queste pagine. Creare, invece il proprio design su:

Concorso per l'interfaccia[edit]

Il concorso per l'interfaccia vuole riscrivere tutto il foglio di stile monobook.css (e possibilmente anche quello JavaScript). Usa per favore la funzione di stili utente (in inglese)per creare una versione personalizzata del Monobook. Semplicemente, crea una pagina [[User:Mio nome utente/monobook.css]] e, se vuoi, [[User:Mio nome utente/monobook.js]] indifferente qui su Meta o sulla versione di Wikinotizie nella tua lingua, e sovrascrivi i fogli di stile già esistenti. Poi, linka la/e pagina/e qui sotto per proporle al concorso.

Il nostro scopo è creare un'identità di stile più da "notiziario" per Wikinotizie.

Potete vedere il codice CSS su pl:n:User:Datrio/monobook.css (non è ancora finito, è solo un veloce prototipo). Se hai qualche suggerimento, scrivili sulla pagina di discussione utente mia o su quella di Sansana, sto facendo l'interfaccia. Datrio 14:53, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Vedi, c'è un grosso problema con la tua interfaccia. Abbiamo permesso di modificare solo monobook.css e monobook.js - e niente d'altro. Tu hai modificato tutto l'HTML del sito, e, come hai accennato, un po' di PHP. Se vuoi fare una buona proposta, dovresti usare solo il CSS e il JS, niente d'altro. Datrio 11:38, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Here's another with more of the nav stuff. Sorry to be camping in your suggestion space here, but I don't write complex CSS myself, and the best I can offer is some graphic design (my field). Great work though - refreshing to see ideas outside the norm. Monobook is beautiful, and it meant a lot for Wikipedia when it came out, but its beginning to look a little dated. --The silentist 02:58, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)

BTW, I have no strong opinions on the right or left-aligned navbar etc; I'm just offering advice on the execution. I like how you've laid out the page. Though would it make sense for all the topics to be on every page? Maybe it should be in a div on the main page, as it is now, just better done. Hmm. I included some extra settings in the PHP file. The whole topics/locations area can be disabled by changing a line in the file from "true" to "false," also, in compliance with WN's constant goal of keeping a large part of the main page "above the fold," the page title/subtitle aren't displayed on the main page. -- Noclip 03:28, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Honestly, I think it's a little dark, and it doesn't feature multiple articles like the current Main Page does. But you got something going on with that gradient, but you should try a lighter blue gradient instead. 207.233.120.2 21:45, 10 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think you just have to register on meta and click on upload media on the sidebar. to take a screenshot (in windows) just press print screen (prtscn) and paste it into mspaint. they should proably have more info under help. hope that helps Bawolff 07:08, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

bumblebook[edit]

This isn't that great but its what i'm using to look at wikinews/pedia. Its basicly a yellow version of monobook (bumblebee + monobook) i just used editcss sidebar for ff and didn't remove the extrastuff so its kinda messey (n:user:bawolff/monobook.css) n:user:bawolff Bawolff 07:08, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

In my opinion, it's a little too straining on the eyes, colour-wise. Also, imagine learning about a major disaster, while the website is all nice and sunny. -- user:zanimum

I just noticed that. Since quite alot of news (in general) is bad a really sunny skin is proably not the greatest skin. For wikinews its proably to much like 'pedia anyways, but it was fun making it. Thanks for the coments. :D Bawolff 22:11, 2 May 2005 (UTC) (sory forgot to sign.)[reply]

Proof of Concept Wikinews[edit]

Following along from the html path that has started here, this is my design of how a news site should look judging by various different sources (BBC,ABC,CNN for example!). I aimed for simplicity and ease of use, along with basic colours and clear differences between navigation for readers and editing facilities for writers (now on the right). The text has come out green on the image, whereas it is in fact a blue a little deeper than that used for links on Wikinews currently.

Please give me your opinions but remember, it's only a half-hour jobby - simply to see how it looks and feels to people! If there is interest, I will put the source on my user page, though it will be messy, since it was thrown together on FrontPage - it may require rewriting!
