  • Primary Wikimedia projects: Since 2019, I've been leading the organization of Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki Loves Folklore, Wiki For Human Rights, WLW, and other projects like WLA and WLE in Rwanda annually, collaborating with my fellow team members. Since 2021, I've taken on the role of overseeing community engagement and partnerships at Wikimedia Rwanda. In 2022, we successfully hosted Wikindaba in Rwanda. Additionally, I serve as the Project Lead for MSIG In Africa Great Lakes, a research initiative focusing on leadership and skills development needs in our region. I'm proud to have served as the MCDC ambassador, a volunteer for the 2022 elections, and a member of the regional partnership committee

  • What experience do you have participating on committees, within or outside the Wikimedia movement?
    I’m responsible for the coordination of local stakeholders to facilitate our local Wikimedia projects and channel the possible feedback to the community members in various channels (facilitated sessions, on-wiki, local projects, as I am the community lead in my country. I’m responsible for awareness campaigns and developments in the Wikimedia movement and the monitoring of new contributors. Outside movement 2015 to 2019 I worked in the government institution known as Rwanda housing Authority served as community raison officer and decisions making process in in Citizen relocation from high risk zone to safe green environment. These experiences have equipped me with a diverse skill set and a broad perspective on committee work, allowing me to bring valuable insights and contribute effectively to collaborative endeavors.
  • What skills, experience, or perspective would you bring or contribute to the committee, if appointed?
    As a dedicated Wikimedia volunteer since 2019 and a co-founder of the Wikimedia Community User Group in Rwanda, I bring a wealth of experience and a passion for social well-being and advocacy for vulnerable communities. With a strong commitment to integrity, I've led a fast-growing affiliation within a smaller community that has directly benefited from the movement's governance strategies. My unique perspective stems from the challenges and opportunities faced by new user groups, insights gained from research conducted in the Africa Great Lakes region, and a keen awareness of the growing challenges encountered by the global south. I particularly emphasize the importance of skills development and equity in fostering community growth, highlighting our experiences with gender balance in our local context. Eager to learn from previous AFFCOM teams, I am ready to contribute and bring innovative ideas to the table. My goal is to enhance the committee's understanding of the dynamics involved in community development, drawing from the successes and hurdles encountered in a rapidly evolving landscape

  • What do you think are the benefits and responsibilities of functioning as formal affiliates, and when is a group of Wikimedians ready to form an affiliate?
    The healthy and growing community benefits from a local recognition and have impact in advancing of open writing culture , and the more its formalized the more it gets an international recognition which is followed by a legal registration and compliance to local laws and international best practices from where you get exposed to network and other affiliates benefits  in capacity building and of course sitting with the bright minds in Wikimedia global movement .
  • Please describe your experience working with conflict resolution, and how you have helped build consensus and support diversity.
    Having led our local movement efforts and contributed regionally through projects like the Africa Great Lakes skills development initiative, my role as the community engagement and partnerships leader has often involved mediating conflicts among members. I've served as a bridge between committees and community members, fostering reconciliation. My involvement in conferences such as WLW 2023 in India, WikiIndabas, and Movement charter conversations has provided valuable experiences. These interactions allowed me to listen to grievances and work towards consensus among a diverse community, considering factors like age, background, and commitment levels. It's been a rewarding journey of understanding and collaboration.
