What is the purpose of the campaign? How will you measure the success of the campaign?[edit]

Description - To attract greater participation at regional Wikipedia Day events in the US. These are usually the largest non-editathon meetups of the calendar year, often take the form of a one-day miniconference, are suitable for newbies looking to become more engaged, and have been held annually in New York City since 2010, in Los Angeles since 2017, and sometimes elsewhere. This request is unusual because we are asking for subnational banners for local events in particular US states.

Metrics - Will be measured by participation at the meetups.

What banner(s) will you use? What will be your landing page?[edit]

  • Oppose Oppose. CentralNotices are being heavily overused. Advertising a meetup is not an appropriate use of a CentralNotice. Use a watchlist notice, or post on the village pump. --Yair rand (talk) 23:31, 10 December 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Central Notice admin comments[edit]

  • I am not sure we can geotarget to specific US States. The geotargetting feature of this extension only contains the United States as a whole.. @Seddon (WMF) for advice (I am really sorry for three pings in a row already, but I don't know who else to ask). —MarcoAurelio (talk) 23:27, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
