DC Hackathon 2022

The 2022 Wikimedia Hackathon is a free, online event to work together on projects, learn new skills, and meet other contributors in the Wikimedia space. A regional meetup is being hosted in Washington, D.C. from May 20-22, as an in-person component to participate in the online event.
Anyone is welcome to attend, regardless of experience or technical background! The goal of this event is to bring people together to learn from one another and work together on making something awesome.

[edit]Registration for the DC meetup is free! Please note that attendees are required to follow the Friendly Space Policy and Code of Conduct for technical spaces. Attendees are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 barring a valid medical reason.

Schedule
[edit]Friday, May 20
[edit]- Opening Ceremony and Hacking (11:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Metropolitan Square WeWork, 655 15th St NW
- When you enter the building, tell the front desk you're heading to WeWork and they will let you in the elevators.
- Head to the 8th floor, enter WeWork, then head up the stairs to the 10th floor and meet in Room 10B
- Nearest metro stops: Metro Center , McPherson Square
- We will have a small gathering at the Wikimedia Foundation's WeWork space (Room 10B) to view the Opening Ceremony, watch online sessions, and get a jump start on hacking.

- At 1:30 PM, there will be a local presentation on ARTT.
- Social (6:30 PM - 8:30 PM)
- Duke's Grocery in Foggy Bottom, 2000 Pennsylvania Ave St NW
- Nearest metro stop: Farragut West
- Join us at the front bar of Duke's Grocery in Foggy Bottom to meet and network with other hackathon participants! Drinks and appetizers will be provided.
Saturday, May 21

- Cove DuPont, 1666 Connecticut Ave NW
- Nearest metro stop: Dupont Circle
- Join us at Cove DuPont for our main hacking event! Meet and work with other Wikimedians to brainstorm projects to improve and work on. There will be online sessions to watch; we also expect to host in-person presentations, such as tutorials and demos.
- Lunch will be provided, along with snacks, coffee, tea, and soft drinks throughout the day.

Sunday, May 22
