Abstract

In GLAM/Wikipedia, I am creating a library/set of clinical guidelines specific to pharmacists. Many of the clinical guidelines are open access and links could be provided to read further. With a group of clinical pharmacists in the team, the highlights of each clinical guidelines will be reviewed and updated whenever the guidelines are updated. This is a project approved by the ethics committee of Gulf Medical University to create such database. GLAM looks like a great platform for creating this library and used by pharmacists and pharmacy students globally. There is no such convenient library available for pharmacists and it is expected that the practice of use of clinical guidelines improves with this library. I am currently editing an Elsevier book titled Clinical Pharmacy Education, Practice, & Research. The transition of pharmacists to clinical practitioners is a trend. Access to easily understandable digests of clinical guidelines is important for the pharmacists to provide clinical services. The new library of clinical guidelines is expected to influence the professional development of pharmacists and thus the patients benefited with better evidence-based practice.

What will attendees take away from this session?
  1. ... The model of discipline specific learning content that supports the professional needs. One of the methods to use GLAM/Wikipedia to assist transition of a profession. In this case the transition from pharmacists to clinical pharmacists is greatly assisted by convenient use of clinical guidelines.

Special requests
It will be great if this session is part of medical/health, etc. as the experts from related filed will attend. If not also that is fine as I will be focusing more on the concept rather than the content inside the proposed library.
