Abstract
The Open GLAM Accelerator is a program that runs by The Public Knowledge Workshop - A non-profit organization whose mission is to release public information and make it easy for the public to meaningfully engage with the data.
The Open GLAM Accelerator established an interface for the development of innovative and impactful collaborations between the world of GLAM and those of the vibrant Hi-tech community in Israel. Through the harnessing of cutting edge technologies and the creation of a community of practitioners, we have created a framework for opening, sharing, collaborating and re-inventing national collections and engaging the public in new and meaningful ways.

This year's projects and GLAM institutions include:

  • Beit Hatfutsot, the Museum of the Jewish People
Project: An online collection of Judica items built together with the public
  • The National Library of Israel
Project: An online collection of Passover Hagada scanned and linked to audio files of liturgical hymns
  • The Israel Film Archive
Project: An online catalogue of films (Similar to IMDB)
  • The Israel Antiquities Authority
Project: A website with visuals of mosaics from the Hellenistic period until the Islamic period.

In our lecture we will describe the outline of the program, what were the goals, how did we choose the GLAM institutions, what was the work process and what we were able to achieve.
