Description:

The aim of WikiTory is to provide the organizers of contests, campaigns, or activities that involve contributors engagement, an open platform for the indexing of multimodal content (audiovisual, textual), and the associated metadata to a geographic area. A tool to strengthen Wiki Loves contests by offering the possibility of making contest thematic and involving new communities within the Wikimedia galaxy, such as cartographers. Similar discussions of a new way to organize WLM contest emerged in the context of the Wiki Loves Heritage (WLH) contest in 2018, or the World Heritage Award discussion in 2020, or the Wiki World Heritage User Group in 2021.

Using Commons, Wikidata and Open Street Map, WikiTory will facilitate a participatory inventory of cultural heritage. In this demo, we show the photographers' section, but a checkers' and cartographers' section is already under development.
