A teaching aid, to educate on the thought processes that went into a discovery, rather than just detailing said discoveries.
Essentially, watch this video by nobel prize winner Feynman, from about 7 minutes until the end of the video. titled "Feynman: Take the world from another point of view 1/4".

Upon watching that, I began to think what a great boon to the world it would be to do something like, add infoboxes to our articles on discoveries, which convey the list of *perceptions* used by geniuses in physics, that allowed them to see further than you, and for them to make their break-throughs.

Such a research program, on HOW they were thinking about previously intractable problems, would help people how to think, that is, how to problem solve.

This perhaps could help usher in the next perception of how to solve problems, as it is really this which is valuable, and not just learning off pages upon pages of facts, a tradition which wikipedia is unfortunately part of.

Project idea[edit]

What is the problem you're trying to solve?[edit]

I want to open up people's perceptions. To help provide a framework for the next break-thru of insight into how the cosmos works, by detailing how previous break-thrus were made.

If we could engage in the logical, or neuroscience departments of universities, to give their categorization of what mental processes, or preception-shifts, were behind these break-throughs.

What is your solution?[edit]

With the categorization of historical phenomenon, whether they be discoveries or calamities, in terms of HOW people were thinking to get into that condition,

I think readers would begin to see how widely disparate subjects and advances actually reflect the same underlying thought-processes.

This could further be elaborated into showing how the fallacious thought processes that are behind atrocities like genocides are the very same as those behind any example of when someone tries to dehumanize their enemy to rationalize their brutal actions. Similarly when someon goes jumping to paranoid conclusions, with many examples of "pre-emptive strikes" out of "self defense" in warfare due precisely to the same feeling and "thinking" that went on inside the minds of those in Germany in WWII. Who likewise, fallaciously thought, that they were defending themselves by striking first and ethnically cleansing, because they were sold on Hitler's infamous "big lies", that a vast pan-jewish conspiracy was behind Germany's earlier economic woes and hyperinflation, and that all jews therefore want to annihilate the Germans.

Now while the victims have changed, the very same fallacious framework of "thinking", is not much differrent than we see today, people really haven't changed very much. Veneers of truth are still fallaciously sown throughout all the "big lies" we face in our culture today.

I've been on wikipedia for a while and increasingly find myself noticing that all the problems the world has, boil down to 1 thing. People don't really know how to think.

Thank you for your interest User:AndriusKulikauskas! It is inspiring to meet someone with a similar mind. However, I would like to keep things as simple and concise as possible to begin with. Infoboxes attached to the ascending insights of physics, with corroborated evidence from relevant physics and neuroscience departments, that for example, as Feynman put it in the video I attached - |Special Relativity was stumbled upon by Einstein by thinking in terms of symmetry, or to put it another way,by looking upon the cosmos thru the lens of symmetry.
Once we've got these positive events completed. We can then branch into such things as; what specific "unthinking" lay behind ethnic cleansing, pre-emptive strikes etc, what exactly is the disturbed "thinking" that they are all derived from? The fallacies, confirmation biases and paranoia derived from incomplete knowledge people have in their minds, that then spead to the wider community and caused all of histories crimes against one another.

How to get it done? User:Diptanshu.D it's fairly simple. Take the example of special relativity, as Feynman specifically mentions that case in the video.
All we have to do, is simply interview leading physicists and those with a knowledge of the history of science, and to ask them to give their opinions on what ways of thinking lay behind Einstein's discovery and to ask them if they know of any other examples of how this specific way of thinking/of viewing a problem, has also borne fruit in other areas of science?
That's it. Once we have that information, we create an infobox on the wikipedia article on relativity, that displays Way of thinking-"symmetry", and the ball begins to roll. We don't have to list a million and one ways of thinking but, to boil them down to the generalized essential few. Such as, systematic Proof-by elimination, & trial and error etc.
