Project idea[edit]

What is the problem you're trying to solve?[edit]

Engaging more people with contributing to Wikimedia projects.

What is your solution?[edit]

A few programming language groups (Python, Ruby, JS) have local groups on everywhere. I believe the Python Software Foundation allocates funds to pay for the meetup fees. How about something similar for Wikimedia enthusiasts? It may bring in many local people who want to contribute to Wikimedia projects, but don't know where to start. It will also provide a social setting and community for enthusiasts.

Who will you be doing outreach with?[edit]

Get Involved[edit]

About the idea creator[edit]

I am an Outreachy intern with Wikimedia for Dec 2016 to March 2017. I also volunteer as Wikimedia coordinator/admin for outreach programs (GSoC/Outreachy) for summer 2017 (May-Aug 2017).
