Part 1 Understanding your work

[edit]

1. Briefly describe how your proposed activities and strategies were implemented.

We implemented our programs and strategies by identifying our priorities, addressing skill gaps, focusing on achieving the objectives through cost-effective strategies, improving the organizational structure, cultivating the harmonious relationship with community members, and documenting the results and measuring our impact.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals?

We found our 5Ps strategy to be effective in achieving our goals. The activities aiming for a common and specific goal were put in one bucket regardless whether they overlap with another program. The advocacy and education programs were effective in raising the awareness about Wikimedia projects and our movement. The diversity and outreach programs were successful in increasing participation among new and existing community members. Partnership fits well with our GLAM program creating opportunities for collaboration with academic institutions and cultural heritage organizations. Addressing skills gaps, improving our internal processes, and having a good fiscal management have increased our capacity in pursuing the mission and vision of the organization.

3. Would you say that your project had any innovations? Are there things that you did very differently than you have seen them done by others?

We conduct two related activities with different audiences or participants in one occasion to address cost-effectiveness and sustainability. One good example of this is the WikiGap and EduWiki events wherein the activities were held in the same venue, one after the other. Another best practice that we do is building partnership with institutions which offer their resources and facilities, and with organizations which connect us to a broad network of volunteers.

4. Please describe how different communities participated and/or were informed about your work.

Through different community outreach activities and regular, annual and year-end meetings, as well as our dedicated Meta and social media channels, different communities were informed about our work. We were able to reach new audience through the advocacy and education programs by partnering with institutions and organizations in promoting our efforts in preserving our cultural heritage, and using Wikimedia as platform in the dissemination of free knowledge. New community members were immersed in different offline and online activities year-round, and in in-person meetings as we organize and implement our activities. Activities are documented and disseminated through our social media pages, and Meta.

5. Documentation of your impact. Please use the two spaces below to share files and links that help tell your story and impact. This can be documentation that shows your results through testimonies, videos, sound files, images (photos and infographics, etc.) social media posts, dashboards, etc.
