6. What is the change you are trying to bring? What are the main challenges or problems you are trying to solve? Describe this change or challenges, as well as main approaches to achieve it. (required)

Most of the campaigns held in Hausa communities involved engaging young participants. There are little participation from aged which at times can have more time to contribute since some of them are already retired. Furthermore, Hausa Wikiquote is a project still under incubator, with articles fewer than 1000, with few number of editors making contribution to the project. This project will aim towards encouraging more edits on this wiki and thereby engaging aged participants in contributing to Hausa Wikiquote.

We will organise both online and offline events, which include: 1. in person trainings: We will organise direct trainings for the local communities 2. Online trainings: We will organise series of online trainings 3. Inclusion: We will add them to our user group’s social media groups on Telegram and Whatsapp. 4. Contest: we will organise contest between participants to encourage contributions.

I am an experienced editor from Hausa community. I have helped organise many workshops and trainings and I also successfully organise mini grants. I will lead the event with the help of (Alamin). User:Uncle Bash007 who has being a major contributor on Hausa Wikiquote will help us organise the event.

9. Who are the target participants and from which community? How will you engage participants before and during the activities? How will you follow up with participants after the activities? (required)

The target participants are aged people from 40yrs and above from Hausa communities. We will invite them and train them on how to edit and use Wikiquote as a tool for quotations.
