The number 6 of the United Nations (UN), Sustainable Development Goals (SGD's) is clean Water and Sanitation. Thus clean water and access to water is very important in our lives.

Nigerian Constitution recognized the right to water and sanitation. Most people in Nigeria do not have access to clean water, especially in the rural areas. The Global water sanitation and hygiene statistics shows that 79% of Nigerians go through challenge of water scarcity. In 2015 in Nigeria 60 million people lacked at least access to 'basic water' as for Sanitation only 33% of the total population had access to at least basic Sanitation. This was 39% of the Urban population and 27% of the rural population. Approximately 122 million people still lacked the access to at least basic Sanitation.

Recently in 2023 there has been a flood in Nigeria that stopped transportation across the Northern and the Southern part of the country which leads to a masses negative effects and price hike of goods, services and commodities due to flood that effect the Kwara and Kogi state bridge that link the Northern and the Southern Nigeria. This leads to fuel hike in Northern Nigeria and foodstuff hike in Southern Nigeria. This floods is as a result of Climate change and lack of proper awareness of community sanitation and lack of proper information to be consumed by the communities.

Recently this year before the raining season our community finds it very difficult to have access to water even at the big cities in the urban areas, due to climate change and proper Water Sanitation this lead to girls and women disproportionately affected by the burden of fetching water and inadequate menstrual health and hygiene at home and school. Poor WASH services in health facilities which put mothers and newborn at risk. Rapid population growth and Climate change compound the WASH challenges which need to be addressed to ensure no one is left behind.

In our community, one of the key challenges and problem resulting to flood, and in accessibility of water is the dump of waste and dirt to the water line, small rivers and community building along water roads. This is a clear example of lack of proper awareness on the dangers and consequences of these actions.

After a careful study we recognize that, there's a very wide gap of information missing in our community about Water and Sanitation. As important as the area is Article in our community about water and sanitation are non existence. Even though there are large volume of articles on water and sanitation in English Wikipedia. Therefore and awareness need to be done to ensure those articles are created/translated for the better consumption of our community due to language barrier of English in most cases. So we will like to create those articles on Wikipedia as Wikipedia is one of the reliable and free access to information in the world.

The main approaches to be used to solve this challenges areare as follow.

1. An online campaign that will education and call the attention of community members towards educating them with relevant Wikipedia articles on how to sanitize water and the negative effects and dangers of abusing water and it's roads, By the community. This campaign will also encourage editors to write about water, flood and drought crisis in Nigeria.

2.two in person edithathon to create and translate articles that are widely non existent in our community (Hausa Wikipedia) relates to Water Sanitation and Hygiene.
