The main challenge we are addressing is the limited awareness and involvement of Kiswahili speakers on Wikipedia. Many potential contributors are not well informed on how to edit and add content effectively in Kiswahili, which results in a shortage of diverse and thorough information on these platforms.

We, the organizers will make follow up after the event.

We conducted online discussions through a virtual meetings organized by the Wikimedia User Group Jenga Wikipedia ya Kiswahili. During these meetings, we presented our project proposal to MUM. MUM agreed to host the event by providing venue and internet access.

How do participants perceive their digital literacy skills and ability to contribute to open knowledge platforms after attending our workshops?

Data Collection:

1. We will collect data through pre- and post-workshop surveys to measure changes in participants' editing activity and confidence. 2. Conduct qualitative interviews to gather insights into participants' perceptions of digital literacy and contribution capabilities. 3. Analyze metrics on article creation, edits, and quality improvements on Wikimedia platforms to assess the overall impact of our project.
