Masalah yang dihadapi:
- 1. Saat ini terkikisnya bahasa dan budaya Jawa mengacu pada perubahan dan penurunan penggunaan bahasa Jawa serta berkurangnya praktik budaya tradisional Jawa dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hal ini bisa disebabkan oleh sejumlah faktor, termasuk modernisasi, globalisasi, perubahan sosial, dan perkembangan teknologi.
- 2. Generasi muda dengan tingkat kemahiran berbahasa Jawa yang rendah ini membawa efek domino bahwa presentase konten berbahasa Jawa di internet tergolong sangat minim.
- 3. Keterbatasan dana dalam penyelenggaraan lokakarya pelatihan dan peningkatan literasi bahasa Jawa.
Pendekatan utama yang digunakan:
- 1. Kami akan menggelar kegiatan lokakarya peningkatan literasi bahasa Jawa di beberapa daerah di Pulau Jawa. Kami akan memilih kota yang memiliki jumlah penutur bahasa Jawa yang signifikan dan berpotensi mendukung pengembangan peningkatan literasi bahasa Jawa.
- 2. Kami akan menggunakan media sosial dari Wikipedia Jawa yang berjumlah empat yakni Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, dan Telegram untuk mempromosikan kegiatan lokakarya yang akan kami gelar. Upaya ini kami lakukan dengan harapan agar ada lembaga, institusi, ataupun komunitas lain yang tertarik untuk bergabung serta berkolaborasi dalam gelaran lokakarya yang akan kami adakan.
- 3. Kegiatan lokakarya peningkatan literasi bahasa Jawa ini akan diadakan secara secara luring. Dalam prosesnya, para peserta akan diberikan pengetahuan tentang dasar-dasar kepenulisan dalam bahasa Jawa. Selanjutnya peserta akan dilatih agar mampu membuat artikel rintisan di Wikipedia bahasa Jawa. Pada akhir sesi di setiap pelaksanaan lokakarya, seluruh peserta akan diajak bergabung dalam grup komunitas Wikimedia dan juga setiap peserta terbaik akan diberikan suvenir eksklusif.

Target utama peserta untuk proyek ini mencakup masyarakat Jawa dari Jawa Tengah, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, dan Jawa Timur. Untuk menjangkau target peserta kami akan mempromosikan kegiatan kami dengan menggunakan platform media sosial Wikipedia Jawa yang ada di Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, dan Telegram. Secara khusus kami menargetkan peserta merupakan orang Jawa yang berusia antara 15-30 tahun. Dalam rentang usia demikian, kami harapkan mereka merupakan orang-orang terpelajar yang tertarik kegiatan kesukarelawanan di Wikimedia.
