Activities which was carried out in the middle of November in implementing the Kiwix program in different schools in Tanzania were through physical and online training. We were able to conduct online training for experienced editors and new editors to train them on how to use Kiwix software to access content offline such as Wikipedia, Wikiquote, and Wiktionary. We were also able to visit schools and teach them on how to use Kiwix and install it on their computers which was helpful for them to access content offline such as Wikipedia. We realized that a large number of students were not aware of Wikipedia. The program was successful because they were able to use Kiwix to access Wikipedia

Part 2: Learning[edit]

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: If it will be implemented, we hope to learn the following from our work: How student will be able to access content without internet usage. Also it will be impactful in determining how young girls are involved in Wikipedia projects which will reduce gender gap and later on they will use Kiwix as a tool to access content.

We were able to visit two girls' schools (Jangwani Secondary School and Kisutu Secondary School) where they will be able to learn how to use Kiwix to access content offline. This was successfully implemented because the software was installed in their computer lab and made it easy to access content, especially Wikipedia offline after zipping Wikipedia files. We also realized that a large number of students were not aware of Wikipedia, and it was a great chance to introduce Wikipedia to support them in their studies and also access other open sites to get their educational content.

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

I realized that some of the students were not aware of Wikipedia, it was a good experience to introduce Wikipedia which will be helpful for their studies. I'm also planning to extend this program to many more schools to reduce gender gap participation since a large number of young girls are not aware of Wikipedia.

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)

I'm planning to share the learnings and results to other community members via Kiwix Metapage and social media.
