Wiki Loves Women She Said is a campaign aimed at bridging gender gap and amplifying the voices of women gender. I as a woman especially living in aboriginal Hausa Land, have experienced the first hand discrimination created by culture against women. Women are deprived of there rights to speak up their minds. The choices are already chosen for them without even there consents. They are not entitle to some political and social privileges like men. Among other countless reasons. I see this campaign as an opportunity for women to feel appreciated on Wikimedia (Wikiquote) where there voices will be heard. Also, the She Said campaign (previously organised ) may not propagate to every portion of the country, perhaps due to time and space limitations. We will use this opportunity to create more awareness and bring more female editors to Wikimedia.

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

The aim of this project is to create more awareness about the She Said - Wiki Loves Women campaign in Hausa native localities and thereby add up to the number of female editors on wiki. This will be achieved through the following strategies/activities i) Online awareness: we will use social media platforms especially Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp in reaching out to participants ii) offline awareness: we will visit target audience and popular places with banners and share flyers for the She Said Campaign. iii) Training and workshop: we will organise a 2days training on the goals of She Said Campaign and the need for more women participation on Wikimedia as well as how to edit Hausa Wikiquote iv) Follow-up and newbee retainment: we will create strategies for retaining new editors by adding them to existing groups on social media, handling their complains, creating quiz and competitions that will spur participation.

Please describe steps taken and provide links to any on-wiki community discussion(s) about the proposal. (required) You need to inform the community and/or group, discuss the project with them, and involve them in planning this proposal. You also need to align the activities with other projects happening in the planned area of implementation to ensure collaboration within the community.

To ensure our project is well-aligned with community needs and to foster collaboration, we took several steps to engage with relevant community members and groups:

1. Community Outreach: We began by reaching out to the Hausa Wikimedians Community leadership. This initial consultation was crucial for aligning our project objectives with the interests and needs of the local Wikimedia community. Through these discussions, we received valuable feedback and support for the project, ensuring that it complements ongoing initiatives and addresses any gaps in the current landscape.

2. Consultation with Facilitators: We engaged with experienced facilitators who have previously been involved in Wikimedia events. This included discussions on their availability, roles, and how their expertise can be integrated into our project. Their insights were instrumental in shaping the training and facilitation components of the initiative.

3. Participant Engagement: We reached out to potential participants who were previously involved in Funtua WomenWiki Initiative: Empowering Voices, Bridging Knowledge which I organised. This prior engagement ensured that we have a committed group of participants who are already interested and invested in the project. Their involvement from the outset helps in tailoring the project to better meet their needs and expectations.

4. Community Discussion and Feedback: We actively sought feedback and suggestions from these groups through various channels, including on-wiki discussions and informal meetings. This feedback was used to refine the project plan and ensure it aligns with the broader Wikimedia community’s goals and ongoing projects.
