1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

Despite the fact that the universal human right declaration apply equally to all sexes, for ages, girls and women have been discriminated and marginalized in various aspects of their lives in different societies. The United Nations (UN)1979 convention on human right which is ratified by many African countries explicitly emphasized the protection of the rights of women and girls; on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women. Yet, various forms of discrimination against the girl child still exist in many African countries. This may not be unconnected to ignorance caused by lack of information. This proposal aims to make information on the rights of the girl child freely available online for government and citizens. The information may form the bases for which the government may draft policies and create awareness among citizens of their rights.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

The approaches I will use are: Partner with students of the Faculty of Social Sciences to deliver the project. Develop the capacity of the students to contribute high quality content to Wikipedia Design a method of capturing learning from the program

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

Send out letters of invitation to my partners. Organize a two days training for my participants Generate topic lists with which participants can work with Create dashboard for the program Share responsibility among participants Organize two days edit-a-thon for my participants Design a data capturing instrument to capture learning
