After the success of the first ever Transgender Wikimedia campaign in Nigeria which attracted lot of transpersons and produced various Wikipedia articles and Wikdata items for transperson in Nigeria. This also resulted in partnerships with various trans organizations in Nigeria. The project aims to attract 50 transpersons for the conference on March 31 and train at least 30 transgender and intersex individuals across Nigeria on how to contribute to the Wikimedia projects, allowing them to contribute to trans topics on Wikimedia so they can go back and train their friends and also to share their stories and experiences, promoting acceptance and respect for the transgender and intersex community, and celebrating the Transgender Day of Visibility in a meaningful way.

The conference will feature speakers from the Wikimedia Foundation human rights team, influential transgender ambassadors in Nigeria, and various Wikipedia experts from Nigeria. The focus of the conference will be on using Wikimedia as a tool to bridge knowledge on trans and human rights topics.
After the conference, the two-day capacity in-person training will follow.
