6. What is the change you are trying to bring? What are the main challenges or problems you are trying to solve? Describe this change or challenges, as well as main approaches to achieve it. (required)

The campaign aims to celebrate and recognize women by focusing on enhancing their representation and visibility on Wikiquote and Wikipedia articles. Through this drive, the WikiActivate Loves Women initiative encourages the creation and improvement of Wikiquote entries and Wikipedia articles related to these influential women, thus contributing to a more inclusive and diverse representation of their voices and perspectives.

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. • Training and Workshop Sessions: We will organize workshops and training sessions for participants to educate them about Wikimedia Universal Code of Conduct, proper citation practices, and Wikipedia's policies on sourcing citations. Provide examples of acceptable and unacceptable practices to illustrate the importance of originality and proper citation.

  • Plagiarism Awareness: We will introduce plagiarism check during this project and raise awareness about the importance of originality and proper attribution. We will introduce participants to plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin and, Grammarly and resources that can help them identify potential instances of plagiarism in Wikipedia articles. Demonstrate how these tools can be used to ensure the integrity of the content.
  • 3 Weeks edit-a-thons : We will organize edit-a-thons which would focus on the creation and improvement of Wikiquote entries and Wikipedia articles related to influential women, thus contributing to a more inclusive and diverse representation and perspectives while adhering to Wikipedia's policies on plagiarism and citation
  • Follow Up online Session: We will hold an online session for participants who are not able to make it to the physical event.
  • Recognition and Rewards: We will recognize and reward women and participants who demonstrate a commitment to upholding Wikipedia's standards of article integrity and void of plagiarism practices. Highlight their contributions as positive examples for others to emulate.

17. What do you hope to learn from your work in this project or proposal? (required)

We hope to see broad outreach and participation of women and their involvement in the Wikimedia movement. We expect to have learned many skills as leaders of a gender gap initiative in the Wikimedia volunteering network. We are expecting to have achieved recruitment, training and team building of new editors in our local area, and intend to follow up on them. We expect to have new content to be created about women from our country and localities.
