- 1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.
Namibia is the arid country that is most vulnerable the consequences of climate change such prolong drought that lasted for years, increased flooding I some are and change in rain patterns are the major impacts of climate change in Namibia. Most of Namibians rely heavily in agriculture to survive. Raising awareness on the impacts of climate change in Namibia through collection of photos is a significant step. This will prompt citizens to adopt new ways of mitigating the impacts of climate change. As well as to do away with activities that are contributing to the climate change. This is an alternative way of documents these impacts.
- 2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.
We will recruit volunteers that will be taking photos and upload them on Wikicommons. As a result volunteers will be acquainted with the impacts of climate climate change in Namibia. In addition these photos will be uploaded on Wiki commons and that will contribute to Namibian content narrative with visuals on Wikicommons . In return the these visuals will rise the awareness of impacts of climate change have on Namibia that is one of the driest country in the world.

1. Virtual Training Workshops: The workshop will help with equipping editors with advanced Wiki Common Photo uploading editing skills so that they will be able to create, edit and improve articles.

As indicated in above questions, Namibia is blessed with a rare climatic condition which is desert and savannah encoupled with arid climates, thus documenting this information will help improve the knowledge on Wikipedia and Wiki Common. We aim to contribute photos on climate and whether in Namibia, which will greatly add to the open body of knowledge on Wiki Commons, Wikidata and Wikipedia projects.

1. Target Audience: Namibian Youth
- 2. We will engage with the participants through our social media platforms for recruitments, and train them through online meetings. There will be a WhatsApp group to communicate daily communications to the participants and also to post frequently asked questions. Through their participation journey, their contributions will be tracked with the Dashboard to determine the winners and the overall contribution the project has made.
- 4. Participants will then be added to our emailing list to communicate and update participants on the way forward with joining the local community user group that was recently established.
To make sure we have a pool of Wikimedians, we will urge participants o continue with editing and adding content to Wikimedia projects such as Wikipedia, Wikicommons, Wiki data etc. through various projects until we see a realization of a standing recognized community user group in Namibia.

We will provide a safer inclusive virtual environment for all participants and make sure that no form of harassments or abuse. Since we are a new group, we don't have a policy, we will follow the Wikimedia policy on ensuring a safer space for all editors.

I have discussed with the fellow co founder of Wikimedia Community User Group Namibia on the current communication platforms that we use such as email and on WhatsApp. We will move all the discussion to the https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Planning_Wikimedia_Community_User_Group_Namibia so that others can add their inputs and endorsements. We will then keep them updated on the rapid grant application process through the Meta page.

- The other grant proposal we applied for had to do with Wikipedia edit-a-thon and not a photo contest. So the merging won't be possible.

Did we reach the targeted number of photos we have planned to add to Wiki Commons? How many young unemployed youth are equipped with relevant digital skills on how to add photos on Wiki Commons. If I have achieved this, then the project is a success. I would like to be equipped with relevant leadership skills on how to run these grands and positively engage with fellow Wikipedia that are participating in the same contest from different countries.
