Wiki Loves Africa

Wiki Loves Africa 2024 in Benin will focus on photo shooting activities under the theme Africa Create. Pictures will be uploaded on commons and will be used to illustrate Beninese related articles on Wikipedia and on its sister projects.

We've planned 2 photowalk activities and 3 upload and edit (training) sessions. Photowalks will help gather pictures and training sessions will help to upload files on Commons. One session will be dedicated to the new launched fon.wikipedia.org project. We will also make an exhibition of best images in partnership with centers in Benin (Institut françaisi du Bénin and Agence universitaire de la frnacophonie au Bénin) in order to encourage best images entries.

The contest is open to everyone. There is no exception. Anyone, Beninese or not, wikimedian or not, having photos from Benin related to the contest's theme will be welcome to participate. We will encourage professional photographers to participate in the contest with the purpose to have photos of quality. Before and during the activities, we will engage the participants through the communication, organization of meetings. In order to follow up the participants after the activities, we will create a communication channel with the participants in order to keep contact with them.
