1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

The contest will focus on freely licensed and high quality images of natural heritages in Tunisia, that will be contributed to Wikimedia Commons for free usage and spread its importance by its utilization in Wikipedia articles.

  • The competition is important because it give us exposure of our natural heritages.
  • Maintenance of Wikidata items for protected areas in Tunisia
  • Promotes physical meetups between the Wikimedians and Wikimedia enthusiasts.
  • Spread the messages outside the existing community.
2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

In order to achieve the changes we want in this project, we plan the following approaches or strategies : Training and capacity building: To provide participants with knowledge related to the topic, we will organize presentations(about WLE) to skill our participants with knowledge on how they will contribute to the project. Recruitment: As we will need participants to contribute in our project, we will recruit participants through notices and project publication.

Communication and awareness: We will publicize our project to the targeted audience, using communication channels to inform the project to our audience.

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

As part of the approaches related to our project, and in order to make our project known to the audience of the project, we plan to establish information releases through various media and communication channels for awareness and sensitization.

We will organize photo shooting walks; Upload of photos to Wikimedia commons; Organize Wikipedia workshop on how to contribute photos on Wikipedia articles. After the campaign, we will document the contributions done by the participants

We have a small team of basically volunteers Naaim Garboussi and Houssem Hoummi photograpers

After organizing Wiki Loves Earth in Tunisia for the third time,This year we will focus on marine areas, especially those that have not been photographed previously and do not have free images on Wikipedia

The contest is open to everyone. There is no exception. Anyone,having photos from Tunisia related to the contest's theme will be welcome to participate. We will encourage professional photographers to participate in the contest with the purpose to have photos of quality. Before and during the activities, we will engage the participants through the communication, organization of meetings. In order to follow up the participants after the activities, we will create a communication channel with the participants in order to keep contact with them.

10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?

We will contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants according to the WMF’s friendly space policy and the universal code of conduct that will be briefed to participants during the organized trainings and our interactions in created social media groups, reminding the participants of the WMF’s friendly space policy and universal code of conduct as important.

First of all as usual we will share the event on social media, second we will send an email to the mailing list of wikimedia TN user group also we will organise a big event where we will invite a lot of photographers and wikimedians to talk about this project

In this project through this collaborations with photographers we hope to built a strong and productive enthusiastic task force to create and distribute the free and open knowledge to everyone needed.
