Wiki for minorities (WfMin) is an initiative that arises in the line of collaborative work for the protection of cultural right, the preservation and dissemination of expressions of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage subdivided into three large minority groups: national or ethnic, religion and sexual minorities (LGBT), people with disabilities, etc. These minorities also include linguistic right and aboriginal minorities as well as migrant minorities. At one side Fulfulde as a language spoken by more than 5 countries in the continent of Africa, the project aim is to address the longstanding issue of the underrepresentation of the Fulfulde minorities in the region. This exclusion, though unintended, is rooted in the lack of accessibility and preparedness required to instill the confidence to participate in Wikimedia movements. The project goals is to rectify the situation of Fulfulde Minorities by involving different minorities groups, with primary focus on partnering with the Joint National Association of persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) who have already shows their interest on the project. https://von.gov.ng/ngo-seeks-inclusive-education-for-persons-with-disabilities/. to create more than 100 articles and upload more than 300 photos in Wiki commons that are directly related to different groups of minorities.
Challenges
Lack of proper engagement: Wikimedia foundation projects frequently lack proper engagements to facilitate the participation of minorities groups in the free knowledge movements. This creates difficulties or retard peoples that have interest to read about minorities across the globe. To address this challenges, we propose to engage an inclusive practice of Wikimedia activities through considering free accessible in events planning, provision of proper guidelines to accommodate various group of minorities, create articles that are directly related to minorities in Northern Nigeria.
Underrepresentation of minorities groups: minorities groups in many cases are made invisible, marginalized from local, state (regional), and national public life, they suffer discrimination, persecution, prejudice, etc. Particularly Fulfulde as minorities in Northern Nigeria, our target groups have shown a keen interest in the Wikimedia Projects, However, they encounter significant accessibility challenges that hinder their engagement. A major barrier is the absence of articles that are related to minorities group, Absence of pictures that are related to minorities groups in Wikimedia commons. To overcome these challenges our approach involves proper collaboration with different local organization to ensure effective engagement, commitment and communication.
Inadequate in training format: This is another challenges arises from the standard format which mostly occur online, as project of minorities that need a special attention on how to create an articles that are related to minorities, identifying a pictures that are related to minorities groups while this format suits many participant to carry online campaign, but not in a project like this one , so we required more personalized one-on-one training sessions in response, our project addresses this by offering tailored training sessions designed to accommodate their needs and preference.
Importance of the project
The engagement of minorities groups in the Wikimedia movements will shed a pretty light. Their unique perspectives and life experience bring valuable contribution to the free knowledge movements. Moreover their involvements will help in bridge the existing content gap related to Minorities within Wikimedia foundation projects. This is not only promote diversity but also ensure a more comprehensive coverage of subjects matter considering Wikimedia as a enrich knowledge resources. By proper documenting cultural heritage of minorities groups in Wikipedia will play a pivotal role in spreading knowledge, give full access to people that have interest in reading about minorities all over the world.
Approaches:
Proper Awareness: This is our first approach that focuses on proper awareness and engagement in Wikipedia and its sister project within our target participant groups. I and my team will engage on online and offline campaigns. The essence of these campaigns is to introduce the Wikipedia and its sister project as inclusive platform that welcome all individuals irrespective of their background to join the free knowledge movements to give their contribution to the wiki for Minorities movement. During our campaigns we will design an informative flyers that highlight information about Wikimedia foundation projects to serve as a tools that will drag maximum attention of our target participant within the community host.
Contents creation and improvements: This is our second approach we are going to identify key contents that are directly related to minorities groups through collaboration with Joint National Association of persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) and improving the existing one which will contribute to the free knowledge and give people with the interest in reading about minorities through Wikipedia chance.
Sustainable collaboration:
partnership with Wiki for minorities at global level we are already on touch with founder of wiki for minorities, and he promised to give us all the necessary support that we may require in seeing we have carryout this projects successfulthis partnership will ensures a long time sustainability of the projects.
Integration as User group members: this is another important point in which will integrate beyond project duration and provide our participant with continue support, guidance, and sense of belonging to a wider Wikimedia community. This effort will ensure ongoing engagement, commitment and growths within the Wikimedia movement at large.

Planned Activities
The Main objectives of the “Wiki for Minorities Fula Project is to address the longstanding issue of the underrepresentation of minorities groups particularly in Nigeria, which will shed light on some important points for sustainable Wikimedia Movements.
Awareness Engagement: I and my team will organized an awareness trips to the community host to explain and introduce our plan activities of the Wikimedia foundation projects, in which we are going to distribute the informative flyers that contain about Wikipedia and its sister project to our fellow participants. This will make our participant to develop more interest in joining the Wikimedia foundation projects, subsequently 40 people will be recruits and train for the projects.
First online sessions: This session will focus on introduction of Wikipedia and its sister project to the newly 55 recruited editors, to have overall picture of Wikipedia foundation project, particularly issues related to minorities groups on Wikipedia.
First Physical sessions: This session will focus on introducing the 55 newly recruited editors to the Wikimedia projects and their activities. Among the activities is Account Creation, Minor Editing, all the participant will be guided through the process of account creation and address minor editing issues.
Second physical Meetup: This is second physical sessions that will focuses on one-on one interactions with our newly recruited editors which will allow them to participate and to be fully guided, and also practical section will be channel to teach them how to improved Wikipedia effectively.
Third Physical Training: this is our final physical training that will mostly focuses on problem solving which will give our participants access to ask question or explain anything look unclear to them, I and my team will provide more explanation to them.
Second Online Training: This training sessions will focuses on monitoring and evaluation of our editors to motivate them to put more effort in editing and contributing to the projects. At the end of the online section, a four weeks Edit-a-thon will be introduce to our participants and also a certificate of excellence will be awarded to the top 3 contributors to serve as an encouragement to the remaining participants.

As the project lead he will guide the team towards the successful delivery of the projects. His experience, hardworking, and leadership will serve as a transformation pillar of Wikimedia project in the regions.
Bembety is a seasoned and accomplished editor with a deep understanding of Wikimedia projects. Serving as a project lead at Ummah College of Health Science and Technology, his extensive expertise has been instrumental throughout his career. Bembety has actively participated in numerous impactful Wikimedia initiatives, including Train the Trainers program. He has received multiple awards for his contribution to Wikimedia projects and also serves as facilitator in various Wikimedia initiatives.
Role
Bembety will serve as a project anchor that will leverage his experience to ensure the effective engagement of the participant throughout the project period.
Igallards7 Is a Chilean Wikimedian volunteer since 2008 with vast experience that is always willing to collaborate with local Wikipedia User Group, is a founder of wiki for Minorities at global level, he participate in so many Wikimedia training both at National and International level. He also take part in the administration of Chile Wikimedia User Group he held the Title of Director.
Role
Igallards7 will serve as a facilitator and moderator for the two online sessions of the projects, he will ensure that all the online sessions run smoothly and align with the project targets.
Mamman AA is a Native Fulfulde speaker, a longtime volunteer Wikipedia translator, editor with vast experience that participate on many Wikipedia training and workshop ( train the trainers workshop in Gombe state, Wikimedia awareness in Federal university Potiskum, train more than 45 Editors during Fulfulde Articles cleanup workshop, He also take part in Fulfulde User Group administration).

The target participants for the project are groups of minorities in the community host, specifically people with disabilities, Religions minorities, we are partnering with Joint National Association of Person with Disabilities (JONAPWD) within the community host for long time sustainable development of the project.
Our strategies before and during the project
Community engagement: we are going to maintain a strong connection with our participants within the community host and beyond, in which we are going to introduce the project goals, objective of the project with our participants. This strategies will give them confidence in joining the movements.
Proper Communication: This is another strategy in which clear and sound communication channels will be maintain with our participants throughout the period of the projects. This strategy will update, reminds and make our participant to have a clear picture of the program.
Good training format: during the physical and online training of the project we are going to make sure we have follow a simple way in teaching our participant how to create a Wikimedia account, create an article, edit Wikipedia among the rest. This strategy will make our participant to develop more interest to engage in Wikimedia foundation project.
Our strategies after the project
Maintaining collaboration with Wiki for Minorities at Global level: To ensure a long time sustainability of our project we are going to maintain our strong connection with the wiki for minorities. This approach will provide a sense of community support which will allow our participants to have guidance as they continue to contribute to the project.
Feedback and Word of encouragements: for the successful project delivery, feedback is a tool that will give us a chance to seek for any assistance that our participants may need after the training. And also a word of encouragement will be tailored to our participant which will ensure their sustained involvement in Wikimedia foundation project.
