1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

Wikidata birthday is a yearly events that brings Wikipedians in all folks of life to celebrate and organize an onsite onsite event. This year I and my team proposed to celebrate Wikidata's 10th birthday by continue introducing Wikidata to the students, and like minds in Kano, who will like to contribute to Wikidata and get them involved in creating Wikidata item and celebrating Wikidata 10th Birthday Anniversary with them. this project it's very important in kano communities and I want make changes like; 1-Improve and increase the quality of the content (data, structure, documentation) 2-Practical sessions to guide new editors to create items and naviagate tehere way around. 3-Introduce wikidata projects to new editors for possible collaboration on reuse and trainings.

Wikidata is still less known in Kano communities and training project like this can be very helpful and ideal for introducing it to our community and help push forward diversity and equity goals of Wikimedia Community. We would like to use the Wikidata Birthday season to create more awareness about Wikidata to our community and also hold practical editing sessions to help new editors as well as to retrain existing Wikipedia editors that shy away from Wikidata.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

Firstly, my strategies include organizing the offline celebration meetup and and training. Physical meetups always have the most impact per analysis of my activities. Secondly, The main approach to achieve the desired change is to train individuals to contribute to Wiki projects such as Wikipedia, Wikidata and othres. Thirdly, This project would be developing the capacity of new and existing editors in contributing to Wikidata as well as fostering exchange of ideas, informed engagements, concepts and resources and related tools that will aid the advancement of Wikidata objectives, while celebrating the achievements of users and the project within the community.

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

Organizing an on-site physical gathering of new and existing Wikidata contributors to train, contribute and celebrate. This meetup would support editing sessions, hackathon to reuse data on Wikidata, discussion and exchange of ideas on how Wikidata can be explored in local languages and how it’s database can be used to collect and manage contextual articles in the space and of course a party. and; A one-day Wikidata 10th Birthday meetup to celebrate Wikidata. This includes Wikidata training workshop to train newcomers and also engage both active Wikipedia editors and non-editors into Wikidata editing. Evaluation report will be produced at the project end to help the User Group know where and how to make strategeic plans in supporting more Wikidata work in our long-term plans. Introduce people to the topics of knowledge representation, structured content and querying the data.
