Art + Feminism Wikipedia edit-a-thons in Yerevan and Gyumri trying to recruit new editors and increase skills for active editors; raise awareness of the campaign, collaborate with new partners (Yerevan based theatres to take photos of theater actresses, Artist Union of Armenia will help to cover women artist who are lacking Wikipedia article and photos, to work with individual artists based in Yerevan and in the regions of Armenia and women activists in Armenia).

4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Wikimedia Armenia will provide the laptops for all the participants of the edit-a-thon. The experienced wikipedians will teach the participants and especially newcomers how to edit Wikipedia, add content, how to use resources, how to work with Wikidata for creating pages, how to upload into wikicommons photos of female artists.

5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

We will have a mailing list of the participants and inform them about further coming Wikipedia events to keep the connection with them. Invite them to add themselves in Wikipedia Facebook & social media pages.

6. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Impact[edit]

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:

  1. Number of events: Two edit-a-thons, 10 days online editing
  2. Number of participants: 30 participants for editathon and 30 for online editing.
  3. Number of new editors: up to 14.
  4. Number of of articles created or improved: 70-140 articles.
  5. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events): 12.

We will use the resources of National Library of Armenia, Artists Union of Armenia, Armenian Women's Fund, Avetik Isahakyan Library

The above mentioned experienced Wikipedians and Wiki-teachers will attend the events, as well as supervise and check all the articles created within the framework of the campaign.

  1. Food and drink: $200
  2. T-shirts for participants: $100 (for 10 active editors)
  3. Gift-cards for books (for 3 the most active editors): $70
  4. Transportation: $200
  5. Miscellaneous supplies: $200 (name tags, posters, printing cheatsheets, media news, etc.)
  6. Extras and unexpected costs: $100
