2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. 3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

It will be announced on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Nigeria and the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria pages

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

  • Precious - Organiser of Wiki4SDGsNigeria, and WPWP Kwara. Top winner in WikiLovesSDGs Online Edit-a-Thon organised by Project EveryOne UK in 2020. Winner, WPWP 2020 Contest and Wiki4Climate Project.
  • Godstime - He is an experienced Wikipedian, and the current vice-president (training and development) of the Wikimedia Fan Club, University of Ilorin. He has played a part in organizing several campaigns both within and outside the University of Ilorin Wikimedia community such as Art+Feminism, Afrocine contest, and Wikipedia pages wanting photos.
  • Pojo07 - Top winner, WPWP & Art and feminism Unilorin.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes, participants have smartphones while some have both laptops and phones.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

WhatsApp will be used to continue engagement even after the event and I will also organise a 40 minutes free zoom meeting every other weekend to give more tips on editing Wikidata.

7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to yourcompleted copy of the risk assessment tool below:


8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

New editors will be trained on editing and creating items on Wikidata and the skills of existing editors will be improved

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:

  1. Number of events: 2
  2. Number of participants: 25
  3. Number of new editors: 5
  4. Number of of articles created or improved: 100
  5. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events): 20

What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding).

Participants already have laptops and Smartphones.

Internet subscription (For the team members) : $150

Internet support for participants: $250

Event hall: $80 x 2 = $160

Food and drinks: $150 x 2 = $300

Branding and Social media promotion: $180

Wikipedia merchandise: $8 x 25= $ 200

Airtime for communication: $50

Camera rental: $53

Branded shirts for organisers and participants = $10 x 10 =$100
