The Wikimedia Conference in DRCongo will be lead by Narcisse Mbunzama, an experimented developer with strong background in IT training. I'm Narcisse Mbunzama, a dual citizen of DRCongo and Sweden. I hold a master in computer science from Umea University in Sweden. I'm a serial winning tech innovator and the executive manager of DRCongo developer association. Prior to that, I served as central africa coordinator for Africa environment outlook for youth at the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP) and as fellow of the International Telecommunication Union. I'm fluent in English, French and Swedish.

As, Software developer and Executive manager of DRCongo Developer association, I organize a serie of training programmes on python in regularly basis since 2015 in kinshasa, the democratic republic of Congo. Participants are students, journalists and developers based in Kinshasa, they come to learn how to use wikimedia. Since 2015, I have trained more than 15 people in the democratic republic of Congo to use wikimedia. In fact, the democratic republic of Congo is one of largest country in africa with more than 75 millions inhabitants but few that 50 people use wikimedia due to lack of skills and knowledge on computer science among people. I want to create a strong community of wikimedia users by organizing a first wikimedia Conference in DRCongo with an active community that will continue to be active over the time.

All 4 developers have strong background in wikimedia and they will participate as trainers.

The training team are :

  • Mr. Narcisse Mbunzama, Master in computer science from Umea University
  • Ms. Lucie Rushimande, Master in computer science from University of Kinshasa.
  • Mr. Jean Remy Mayamba, Bachelor in computer science from University of Kinshasa
  • Mr. Glody Ndombasi, Bachelor in Electrical engineering from Institut des techniques Appliquées
