Proposed participation[edit]

"I am an active English-speaking Wikimedian from Wikipedias in the languages of Russia group, the only one who runs Weekend Wiki-School for high-school students in my hometown & online, has some experience in organizing banner campaign, as well as the sole one from Russia who had received WMF Full Scholarship to attend Learning Days & Wikimania @ Montreal this year. I have submissions accepted & invited to take part in an interwiki cooperation discussion, where I'll be sharing about Bringing dynamism to small wiki MainPages by means of Calendar on the MainPage project. "

Goal and expected impact[edit]

"As a result of my participation, everyone in the audience will become aware of the steps in organizing successful Weekend Wiki-School programs, Wikimedia banner campaigns about their projects, as well as plan their participation in International Wikimedia programs & conferences. Additionally, some fraction of the audience will take a more active interest and will engagein cross-wiki cooperation Project in the languages of Russia."

Budget breakdown[edit]

  • Travel (round trip airfare from KZN to MOW): USD 150 (max)
  • Travel (round trip Aeroexpress MOW airport-city): USD 18 (max)
  • Accommodation: USD 15 per night (max) x 2 nights (max) = USD 30

Other instructions[edit]

  • Since June 2017 WMF does not wire money to Russia, so I would request direct purchase of my airfare, airexpress tickets + booking a hostel in vicinity of Baumanskaya metro station (like Chekhov house)
  • I'll be travelling to conference (KZN-MOW) in the morning of Oct.14
  • By the time my grant will be approved, I'll be able to specify what airport of Moscow I'd request & timing of my return flight & Aeroexpress train
  • I'll need Airport-City-Airport Moscow express train tickets for Oct.14 & 15/16
  • I'd be flying back on Oct.20/21, connecting from another destination.
