Funded[edit]

Hello @Zuthergail thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed and approved the grant in the amount of 1,400,000 XOF (2,321.22 USD) with the following recommendations:

Your project proposal to increase the representation and visibility of Beninese women on French Wikiquote and Gun-Gbe Wikiquote is commendable. Here are a few areas where we believe you might be able to improve your project plan:

Clarity and Specificity in Training Programs:

  • While you have outlined a four-day training program, it would be beneficial to provide specific details about the curriculum. What topics will be covered each day? How will you ensure the training is engaging and tailored to the participants' needs? Providing a detailed agenda will help in understanding the depth and breadth of the training.
  • Additionally, consider including examples or case studies related to Beninese women on Wikiquote to make the training more relatable and practical for the participants. Real-life examples can make the learning experience better and inspire participants to contribute more effectively.

Partnerships and Sustainability:

  • How do you intend to involve the women groups in Port-Novo? It would be valuable to elaborate on the nature of these partnerships. How will these groups be involved in the project? Are there any collaborative activities planned with these groups?
  • Consider sustainability. How will you ensure that the momentum and contributions continue beyond these initial activities? One idea might be to consider a mentorship program within the Wikimedia community to provide continuous support to the new contributors. This could help with fostering a sense of community and encouraging long-term engagement.

Evaluation and Learning:

  • The details on the metrics you plan to track is good, such as the number of participants, editors, and content contributions. Please consider including a brief about how you will evaluate the effectiveness of your training programs. For example if you could conduct a pre and post-training assessment to measure participants' knowledge growth. You should also conduct feedback sessions after each activity to understand what worked well and areas that need improvement.
  • Reflect on the project's impact not only in terms of quantity (number of participants, content created) but also in terms of quality. How will you assess the accuracy and reliability of the content created or edited by participants?

By addressing these points, your project plan will become more comprehensive, ensuring a clear understanding of your goals, methods, and expected outcomes. Good luck with your project!
