Hello @NehalDaveND,

Thank you for putting in your grant application. Here are the consolidated questions, comments and observations from the reviewers. Would you be able to provide a response to them? Thank you.

Feedback on activities

Applicant mentioned this in an application.I would like to suggest that with their previous experience after their success of workshops at Yoga Institute they should try to get connected with other universities as their own,

2) बाइट्स्, सम्पादन संख्या और पंजीकरण। बाकी तो उनके अच्छे आर्टिकल का मूल्यांकन उच्च होगा। आप देख पाएंगे। Applicants should make one criteria list with them to check the upgradation of articles get created. In they need they will ask help from any wikimedian other than Sanskrit who have this kind of expertise to handle the technical issues.

3) If applicant(s) are organising this kind of workshop and if they need any expertise related to organising workshops frequently they can ask guidance from CIS also.

4) We need to keep this in mind that we should try to engage editors for the long time. For that applicants should make rapport with them and encourage them.

5) I go through the timetable of the workshop. I would like to suggest that applicants should make the same with more specifications and exact outcome of that particular activity.

1) I will contact and visit other universities. So they can help me to organize such workshop there also.
2) I didn't understand this point.
3) I will ask CIS, but if I can get grant, I want to organize this at University level. So I can understand what kind of help I need from CIS.
4) I will make report of new editor's edits and encourage them by involving them in future workshop activities.
5) I will make report of outcome. Criteria is fixed each editor will be part of editothon and will make 1 article (5000 bytes) or 12,000 bytes (equivalent two articles). Total - 100 Articles will be improved or created. 100 Files will be uploaded in commons. 10 Wikisource pages will be proofread. NehalDaveND (talk) 08:51, 20 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Update on your grant application[edit]

Hello @NehalDaveND,

Thank you for responding to the follow-up questions.

This is to acknowledge your response and share that we are processing your grant application.

As a next step we are hoping to secure a fiscal sponsor for your grant application and hope to provide an update on the outcome of your grant together with a confirmation on fiscal sponsor arrangement by 31 May.

While I understand you have the intention to start your first activity on 29 May. It would be best to wait to receive the grant outcome before starting any activity.

Thank you.

Your grant has been approved[edit]

Hello @NehalDaveND,

Congratulations! Your grant application has been approved in the amount of INR 321,921 from 27 May 2024 to 1 November 2024. Referencing your latest budget spreadsheet. Your budget request for a laptop (estimated at INR 110,000) has not been approved. We have deducted it from your total request and added a 10% fiscal sponsor fee. Kiwix has agreed to be your fiscal sponsor.

Let’s continue having regular conversations over the course of your grant implementation. Please let me know if you require support in any way or would like to share your experiences with a wider community through the Let's Connect Programme or on South Asia Open Community Calls.

Note on grant funding amount

In your award letter/email, you may observe that the USD equivalent may be different from the floating exchange rate on Oanda. This is because (at the moment) we apply a pre-set exchange rate for each grant as determined by the WMF Finance team. That said, I've published on meta the approved amount in your local currency and we can use that as a common reference point.

We know even the best thought through plans may change.

In the event that there are changes to your implementation schedule, you can reach out to request for a grant extension (i.e. extend end date). Similarly, if there is a surplus budget or changes to your planned budget, you can reach out to me about reallocation (via email and on this talkpage). There is also the option to have the unspent funds deducted against a future grant. More details here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Return_unused_funds_to_WMF

Additional resources which may be useful

We thank you for your participation in the grant application process and hope to continue to journey with you as you embark on this project. Good luck!
