1. It is important because of the law Librarians that are involved. The knowledge gap with content on Lawyers in Nigeria is huge and we do not have many Nigerian Law Librarian Wikipedians. There are a lot of information from that field that is missing when you talk about Nigerian content. The call for this training makes it better because the participation level will be better and their contributions. 2* Recruiting 60 new and existing editors from Law firm libraries, court libraries and the Faculty of Law Library, Nigerian Library association

Increase the awareness of Wikipedia and its sister projects and broaden their knowledge on how to use Wikipedia as a starting point for research work and references, while improving their information literacy skills.
Participants will be trained on how to run queries to understand the data gaps on Wikidata about Nigerian Law Books, Lawyers, and Judges.
Participants will be trained on creating and improving Wikidata items about Nigerian law firms, law books, notable lawyers, and judges.
Participants will be trained in contributing to Wikimedia projects by creating Wikipedia accounts, understanding general editing principles, performing minor edits, creating categories, and templates, expanding Wikipedia articles about Law Libraries, Law Firms, Lawyers, and Judges in Nigeria, and using Wikipedia's article creation wizard.( This aspect of the proposal is welcomed because the lawyers are not just Lawyers but Librarians as well. This gives it a great impact.

3* The interesting research is the aspect of creating more contents on Nigerian Lawyers, Law Libraries, courts e.t.c 4* Yes it will 5* Yes I support this proposal.

The training is necessary in order to improve the digital literacy skills of law Librarians and librarians in general. It is also a means to help create awareness about the various activities of Wikimedia Foundation among law Librarians and this will help improve their service delivery. Olabisi11 (talk)

Not funded[edit]

Hello Odomero2711, thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After reviewing your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the main reasons for our decision:

  • The impact of the project and planned workshops are not clear.
  • The applicant or the team did not show sufficient capacity on and off Wikimedia projects to run the project. We recommend gaining more experience on Wikimedia projects as a contributor and trainer of proposed projects
  • Budget alignment: The proposed budget does not align with the described activities and overall project impact. Your application needs to have a reasonable budget that is aligned with your context.
