Not funded[edit]

Hello Yusuf Sa'adu,

Thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After a thorough review of your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the main reasons for our decision:

  • The proposal lacks clarity especially in terms of the impact desired, the approaches and strategies to be used. This is more concerning, especially seeing that the activities would take place in a different country.
  • The proposal lacks thoughtfulness on how you would engage training participants in a country that lacks Wikimedians for support beyond the training.
  • We also find a mis-alignment between the suggested impact and the requested funds.
  • The applicant has insufficient experience in some of the projects they indicated they would train participants. We recommend collaborating with the local affiliates in running similar activities.

Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:29, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
