I am excited that a project would eventually be carried out in this institution. It has always been part of our agenda to see that all institutions in the Northern Nigeria have Wikimedia editors. Seeing an editor who is a stakeholder in the school taking this challenge is worthy of encomium. Therefore, I have been duly inform of the project and I will be there to facilitate and share my experience with the new recruited editors. Ibjaja055 (talk) 11:08, 1 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Empowering the community[edit]

I firmly stand behind the Federal College of Horticulture Dadin Kowa's project, recognizing its immense potential to bring about positive change through Wikimedia initiatives. The project's primary objective of creating widespread awareness among staff and students is truly commendable. By introducing the Wikimedia community to these individuals, the project will empower them with knowledge and resources to contribute to the preservation and dissemination of information. This exposure will not only enhance their digital literacy but also foster a sense of active participation in documenting our natural environment through platforms like Wiki Loves Earth. The project's focus on sustainability is a testament to its long-term vision, ensuring that the newly trained editors are not only engaged but also supported in their journey. By capturing and recording the beauty of our natural world, this project will serve as a valuable guide for generations to come, inspiring them to appreciate and protect our environment. I therefore support the Federal College of Horticulture Dadin Kowa in their mission to promote Wikimedia projects and create a lasting impact in our community. Impact[edit]

I am endorsing this project for three reasons. First, the applicant is someone who is abreast with the institution, being a scholar, academic, and researcher for many years, and he has students there. Therefore, it will be much easier for the project to be successfully implemented due to his expertise. Second, as a lecturer, I have noticed a significant issue in the north, which is the lack of participation from the academic community in Wikimedia projects. This leads to various challenges, such as the underutilization of Wikipedia as a source in universities. I believe he will lead the necessary change in the institution he represents. Third, his capacity is another reason for my endorsement. While it is now easier for anyone to apply for a Rapid Grant, the crucial question remains: Is the person truly capable of executing the project? In this regard, I have confidence in his abilities to ensure the project's successful implementation and sustainability. Usmanagm (talk) 19:34, 5 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
