--Yusuf Sa'adu (talk) 09:25, 4 May 2023 (UTC)I Support this project because The project's multifaceted approach, which seeks to increase the representation of women's perspectives and experiences in Wikipedia, promote the participation of women and girls in Wikipedia editing, and challenge gender stereotypes through improved education, is laudable. The project's efforts to identify and address bias in existing articles and creating new articles with a neutral point of view on gender are equally commendable[reply]

I am pleased to endorse the proposed Wikipedia workshop for Gender Equality in Kano. The workshop's goals of promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls in the region are much needed and align with my own values and those of my organization.

I believe that the workshop has the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of women and girls in Kano, who face significant challenges when it comes to gender equality. By providing them with the skills and knowledge to contribute to Wikipedia, they will be able to share their experiences and perspectives with a global audience, and help to raise awareness of the issues they face.

As an endorser, I pledge my support for the project and am eager to contribute in any way that I can. This might include offering volunteering my time and expertise. I am also committed to helping to spread the word about the workshop to other interested parties in my network.

Thank you for considering my endorsement, and I wish the project team all the best in their efforts to promote gender equality in Kano.

I support this proposal that will be very useful project and help especially to draw attentions to female editors so that they can wake up and get involved to this journey. The proposal has a vital strategies, because there's scanty of female editors here as well as articles related to them. The proposal will also contribute immensely to balanced the gender equality, along with towards Wikimedia community development.

Not Funded[edit]

Hello A Sulaiman Z, thank you for applying for a Rapid Grant. We have reviewed your application and have decided to not fund the project. While the project goal points to gender equality, the project team itself does not reflect this equality.

Best regards, (On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team) ~~~~ YPam (WMF) (talk) 21:23, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @YPam (WMF),
Thank you for reviewiRg my Rapid Grant and for providing feedback on why it was not funded. I appreciate your concern about the lack of gender equality in the project team.
I would like to clarify that while the current team may not appear to reflect gender equality, we have taken steps to ensure that the project is inclusive and welcoming to individuals of all genders. We have actively reached out to female volunteers and community members to participate in the project, and have made a commitment to prioritize diversity and inclusivity throughout the project's implementation.
I understand that the Wikimedia Foundation places a high priority on promoting gender equality, and I share this commitment. I believe that my project has the potential to make a significant impact towards this goal, and I hope that you will reconsider your decision not to fund it.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
A Sulaiman Z (talk) 23:56, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @A Sulaiman Z The decision regarding your grant application is final and will not be re-considered currently. The recommendation still remains that it is important for a team implementing a project such as this to consist of co-leads that represent gender equality. We welcome you to build a representative team and apply in the next grant cycle.
Best regards, (On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team) ~~~~ YPam (WMF) (talk) 20:10, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi@YPam (WMF), thank you for encouraging me and advice me to build a representative team and apply in the next grant cycle. I will rectify my mistake and re-apply the more attractive than this one in the next cycle. A Sulaiman Z (talk) 22:09, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
